Job summary

Fuller Technologies is seeking a Backend Developer II to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services powering our global ORS platform. You will build cloud-native applications, APIs, and IIoT data services enabling reliable connectivity between industrial equipment, cloud platforms, and digital solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 4+ years of backend software development experience.
• Strong programming experience with Java, Python, C#, Node.js, or comparable backend technologies.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, distributed applications, and microservices architectures.
• Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and backend data-management principles.
• Experience developing and deploying cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure services.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies, CI/CD pipelines, source control, and modern DevOps practices.
• Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile development methodologies.
• Knowledge of secure software development practices; exposure to industrial or IIoT cybersecurity is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

About The Role

As a Backend Developer II, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services that power our global Online Reliability Services (ORS) platform. You will build cloud-native applications, APIs, and IIoT data services that enable reliable connectivity between industrial equipment, cloud platforms, and digital solutions.

In this role, you will independently deliver high-quality software features while collaborating with cross-functional teams to continuously improve platform performance, scalability, security, and operational reliability.

Your Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Build cloud-native applications supporting Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) connectivity and data processing.
• Develop reliable machine-to-cloud data integration services.
• Optimize backend performance, scalability, availability, and maintainability.
• Design and implement database structures and data processing workflows.
• Participate in software architecture discussions and technical design reviews.
• Contribute to CI/CD automation, monitoring, and production support activities.
• Investigate and resolve production issues using structured root cause analysis.
• Apply secure development practices throughout the SDLC, including IEC 62443 cybersecurity principles.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, product managers, and domain experts to deliver integrated solutions.
• Mentor junior developers through code reviews and technical guidance.
• Support continuous improvement of development standards, tooling, and engineering practices..

You bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Strong programming experience with Java, Python, C#, Node.js, or comparable backend technologies.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, distributed applications, and microservices-based architectures.

• Experience developing and deploying cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure services.

• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile development methodologies.
• Working knowledge of secure software development practices and cybersecurity principles; exposure to industrial or IIoT cybersecurity is an advantage.
• Strong systems thinking, analytical, troubleshooting, and complex problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve application and platform issues.
• Ability to translate technical requirements into reliable, maintainable, and scalable software solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, product, and other technical teams.
• Experience working in global and cross-functional environments is an advantage.
• A quality-focused and continuous-improvement mindset with strong ownership and accountability.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken; additional languages are an advantage.
