Job summary

MacroHire is seeking a Sr Software Engineer (Node.js) in Pune to own backend APIs, data models, and integrations for our enterprise SaaS platform. You will design server-side architecture and deliver core modules with scalable databases and secure data handling.

You will contribute to frontend tasks with Vue.js when needed and collaborate across teams. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in backend development, API design in Node.js or Python, MongoDB expertise, Git/CI‑CD, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in writing APIs with Python or Node.js.
• Experience with MongoDB or NoSQL databases including schema design and performance tuning.

Role summary

You will own the design, development, and delivery of core modules on company’s enterprise SaaS platform. The work is primarily backend APIs, database architecture, background services, and integrations with frontend involvement when features require full‑stack ownership.

• Design and build server‑side architecture: APIs, data models, background jobs, and third‑party integrations
• Write effective RESTful APIs using Python or Node.js that serve both the web application and mobile clients
• Design and manage MongoDB databases schema design, indexing, query optimisation, and data integrity at scale, etc.
• Build and maintain background services and data pipelines that process high‑volume data reliably and efficiently
• Implement security and data protection measures appropriate for enterprise clients

Frontend contribution

• Contribute to the frontend using Vue.js when features require full‑stack ownership, you should be comfortable building and maintaining frontend components

Must‑have skills

• 4–7 years of professional software development experience with a strong backend focus
• Proficiency in writing APIs using Python or Node.js; you should be able to design, build, and optimise APIs independently
• Hands‑on experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases including schema design, aggregation pipelines, and performance tuning
• Working knowledge of frontend development with Vue.js enough to own full‑stack features when needed
• Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and deployment workflows
• Ability to write clean, testable, well‑documented code and conduct thorough code reviews
• Clear communication skills: you can explain technical decisions to non‑technical stakeholders and write documentation that others can follow

Good‑to‑have skills

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / GCP) and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Exposure to microservices architecture, event‑driven systems, or message queues
• Experience building data pipelines or working with high‑volume data processing
• Prior experience in SaaS or enterprise product companies
• Familiarity with ML/AI integration at the application layer
