Senior Azure Integration Engineer – Azure & TypeScriptRole Overview
We are looking for a Senior Azure Integration Engineer with strong expertise in Azure-native integration, TypeScript/Node.js, containerized applications, and enterprise integration migrations.
The ideal candidate will independently design, develop, optimize, and support production-grade integration solutions on Azure. The candidate must be capable of reverse-engineering existing integrations, including MuleSoft and other ESB platforms, and translating them into scalable, secure, Azure-native architectures.
This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong technical ownership, architectural thinking, and the ability to deliver integrations end-to-end with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize Azure-native, cloud-based integration solutions.
- Build scalable integration services using TypeScript/Node.js and Azure SDKs.
- Develop serverless solutions using Azure Functions and containerized microservices using Azure Container Apps or AKS.
- Analyze and reverse-engineer existing integration flows, even when documentation is limited.
- Identify source systems, target systems, data transformations, interfaces, dependencies, and integration contracts.
- Migrate legacy and non-Azure integration patterns into modern Azure architectures.
- Translate MuleSoft/DataWeave-based integrations into Azure services and TypeScript-based transformation logic.
- Design event-driven architectures using Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, and Event Hubs.
- Implement robust retry, error handling, dead-lettering, idempotency, deduplication, and message-ordering strategies.
- Design and implement APIs using Azure API Management.
- Integrate with enterprise and external systems including Salesforce, REST APIs, GraphQL, Azure SQL, and other downstream platforms.
- Implement high-volume transaction ingestion and processing using Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2.
- Build secure solutions using Azure Key Vault and Managed Identity.
- Implement structured logging, distributed tracing, correlation IDs, monitoring, and diagnostics using Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
- Containerize applications using Docker and optimize container images for production workloads.
- Develop CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Bitbucket, or GitHub Actions.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Support rolling, blue-green, and environment-specific deployments across development, test, and production.
- Analyze production issues, identify root causes, and implement performance and reliability improvements.
- Work independently and collaborate effectively with distributed/offshore engineering teams.
Mandatory Experience
- 7–10+ years of experience in enterprise integration development.
- Extensive hands‑on experience delivering production Azure integration solutions.
- Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js.
- Proven experience developing scalable Azure Functions, microservices, and integration services using TypeScript.
- Strong experience with Azure Service Bus, including queues, topics, subscriptions, retries, message settlement, and DLQs.
- Hands‑on experience with Azure Event Grid and/or Event Hubs.
- Production experience with Azure Container Apps and/or AKS.
- Experience with Azure API Management.
- Strong understanding of Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2.
- Hands‑on experience with Azure Key Vault and Managed Identity.
- Experience with Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
- Strong Docker/containerization experience.
- Experience implementing CI/CD using Azure DevOps, Bitbucket, or GitHub Actions.
- Experience with Terraform/IaC.
- Proven ability to analyze and migrate integrations from platforms such as MuleSoft or other ESBs into Azure.
