Tata Consultancy Services in Mumbai, India seeks an experienced data engineering expert to design and implement cloud-based data solutions. You will work with Python, Spark, and Azure Databricks to transform large datasets and optimize performance across complex pipelines.

The role requires strong SQL expertise with T-SQL and experience deploying in Azure, along with Git for version control and familiarity with Agile/DevOps practices. This is a full-time on-site position based in Mumbai.

• 8–10 years of experience in data solutions development on cloud platforms.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Strong SQL skills with complex SPROCs/Functions/Views using T-SQL.
• Solid Spark architecture knowledge and big data performance tuning.
• Build complex data transformations on structured and semi-structured data (XML/JSON) using PySpark and SQL.
• Familiarity with Azure Databricks environment.
• Good understanding of Azure cloud ecosystem; DP-200/201/203 certifications are a plus.
• Proficient with Git for source control.
• Understanding of Agile, DevOps and CI/CD automation.

Role & responsibilities

Must-Have**

• At least 8-10 years of experience in development of data solutions using cloud platforms
• Strong programming skills in Python
• Strong SQL skills and experience writing complex yet efficient SPROCs/Functions/Views using T-SQL
• Solid understanding of spark architecture and experience with performance tuning big data workloads in spark
• Building complex data transformations on both structure and semi-structured data (XML/JSON) using Pyspark & SQL
• Familiarity with Azure Databricks environment
• Good understanding of Azure cloud ecosystem; Azure data certification of DP-200/201/203 will be an advantage
• Proficient source control using GIT
• Good understanding of Agile, DevOps and CI-CD automated
