Job summary

RIB Software GmbH in Nashik/Pune, India, is seeking an Azure Data Engineer to join a growing data team. You will build scalable data pipelines, transform data, and support event-driven workflows using modern Azure data technologies.

You will work with Azure Synapse, Spark notebooks, SQL databases, and AI-assisted development tools, while ensuring data security and performance. Strong 5–8 years of experience and a passion for cloud-first data platforms are required.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of data engineering experience.
• Experience with Azure data services and cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines using Azure Synapse and Spark notebooks.
• Perform data ingestion, transformation, and incremental loading from multiple sources.
• Support background processing and automation using Azure Functions.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases to model and manage data.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Use AI coding assistants and Agentic AI tools to accelerate development, testing, and documentation, while reviewing AI output.
• Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics (Pipelines, SQL pools).
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB.
• Good SQL skills and basic data modelling knowledge.
• Understanding of incremental loads, CDC, performance tuning.
• Basic knowledge of Azure security (Managed Identity, RBAC, Key Vault).
• AI proficiency: prompting and verifying AI-generated code and SQL.

The job

As an Azure Data Engineer, you will be part of a growing data engineering team building scalable and secure data platforms for SaaS, multi-tenant applications. You will work closely with senior engineers to develop data pipelines, perform transformations, and support event-driven data workflows while continuously learning modern Azure data technologies. Our engineering workflow is AI-augmented — you will work alongside Agentic AI tools as part of daily development, so comfort with AI-assisted engineering is a core part of this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines using Azure Synapse and Spark notebooks
• Perform data ingestion, transformation, and incremental loading from multiple sources
• Support background processing and automation using Azure Functions
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases to model and manage data
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues and performance bottlenecks
• Use AI coding assistants and Agentic AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to accelerate development, testing, and documentation, while critically reviewing and validating AI-generated output
• Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics (Pipelines, SQL pools)
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, or Cosmos DB
• Good SQL skills and basic data modelling knowledge
• Understanding of incremental loads, CDC, and performance tuning
• Basic knowledge of Azure security (Managed Identity, RBAC, Key Vault)
• AI proficiency: hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) in day-to-day engineering work — including effective prompting, and the judgment to verify AI-generated code and SQL before it ships

Desired Skills

• Exposure to Microsoft Fabric or Delta Lake / Parquet formats
• Basic understanding of event-driven or asynchronous processing
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and collaborative development practices
• Strong logical thinking and willingness to learn
• Exposure to Agentic AI workflows — AI agents that plan and execute multi-step engineering tasks — or agent frameworks (e.g., Claude Code / Agent SDK, Microsoft agent frameworks)
• Familiarity with Azure AI services (Azure OpenAI / Microsoft Foundry) or building LLM-backed features such as RAG over data platforms
