Job summary

EY is seeking an experienced Azure Data Architect in Bengaluru to design and implement scalable data platforms on Microsoft Azure. You will lead end-to-end data architecture, governance, and analytics initiatives using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake Gen2, and Power BI.

The role requires hands-on experience with Unity Catalog, data modeling, and modern data platform patterns, along with strong collaboration with data scientists and stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions for BI

Qualifications

• Proven experience architecting data solutions on Microsoft Azure (min 4+ years).
• Hands-on with Unity Catalog, ADF, Azure Databricks, and Data Lake Gen1/Gen2.
• Strong SQL and Python/PySpark for data processing and transformations.
• Experience implementing data governance, security (RBAC/ABAC), and cloud compliance.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud-based data architectures on Azure to support analytics, reporting, and data science.
• Develop data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and orchestrate end-to-end workflows.
• Architect and optimize data lakes with Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2.
• Implement ELT/ETL using Azure Databricks and Spark for big data processing.
• Integrate, transform, and visualize data with Power BI, including data modeling and DAX.
• Ensure data governance, security, and compliance within Azure environments.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders and lead technical mentoring.

Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Data Architect with strong expertise in designing and implementing scalable data platforms using Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, and Power BI, and will lead end‑to‑end data architecture, governance, and analytics solutions to support business intelligence and AI initiatives. Hands‑on experience in Unity Catalog in a must.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud‑based data architectures on Azure to support advanced analytics, reporting, and data science initiatives
• Develop data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and orchestrate end‑to‑end data workflows
• Architect and optimize data lakes for structured and unstructured data storage using Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2
• Implement ELT/ETL frameworks using Azure Databricks and Spark for big data processing
• Integrate, transform, and visualize data using Power BI, ensuring efficient data modeling and DAX optimization
• Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance best practices within Azure environments
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to define and deliver scalable solutions
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and developers

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in architecting data solutions on Microsoft Azure (minimum 4+ years)
• Expertise in:
  • Unity Catalog
  • Azure Data Factory (ADF)
  • Azure Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake)
  • Azure Data Lake Storage Gen1/Gen2
  • Power BI (data modeling, DAX, visualization)
• Strong understanding of data integration, data warehousing, and modern data platform patterns (e.g., medallion architecture)
• Proficiency in SQL, Python or PySpark for data processing and transformations
• Experience with CI/CD, version control (e.g., Git), and DevOps for data
• Knowledge of data governance, security (RBAC, ABAC), and compliance on cloud platforms
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft certifications such as:
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Azure Data Engineer Associate
  • Power BI Data Analyst Associate
• Experience with tools like Azure Synapse, Purview, Logic Apps, or Power Automate
• Familiarity with real‑time data processing and event‑driven architectures (e.g., Event Hubs, Stream Analytics)
