Job summary

VOIS (Vodafone Intelligent Solutions) is seeking an Azure Cloud Platform Expert to join the Wintel – Microsoft Cloud Services team in Pune. Based at SP Infocity, you will design and implement Infrastructure as Code, extend Terraform modules and evolve the Azure Landing Zone for hosting applications across markets.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related technical discipline.
• At least 7 years in cloud computing, software engineering or IT infra.
• Practical experience with Terraform or other IaC tool.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud-native solutions & enterprise cloud architecture.
• Hands-on with Azure Management Groups, Azure Policy and Azure networking (Firewall, DNS, ExpressRoute).
• Experience with Azure DevOps and GitHub Enterprise.
• Experience with Azure Resource Manager templates is beneficial.
• Familiar with Azure Log Analytics or similar monitoring frameworks.
• Able to write maintainable IaC and clear technical docs.
• Strong analytical approach and collaboration with engineers.
• Fluent English in writing and speaking for reviews and discussions.
• Shows ownership and accountability in a fast-paced agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance cloud-native platform capabilities; create Terraform modules and improve infrastructure code.
• Translate user stories into clean, reusable Terraform code.
• Participate in code reviews and pre-production testing with DevOps engineers.
• Support deployment of Azure services across strategic regions with security and compliance.
• Work with Azure services like Policy, Management Groups, Firewall, DNS, ExpressRoute, AKS and monitoring.
• Use GitHub Enterprise and Azure DevOps to manage code, workflows and delivery.
• Contribute to backlog reduction and landing zone feature delivery.
• Participate in stand-ups, planning, retrospectives and agile activities.
• Support availability, compliance and continuous improvement of the Azure platform.
• Evaluate options, test solutions, and escalate complex issues.

About This Role

We are seeking an Azure Cloud Platform Expert to join the Wintel – Microsoft Cloud Services team within Vodafone Cloud & Infrastructure. Based at SP Infocity, Pune, you will help build, enhance and evolve the Azure Landing Zone and cloud-native solutions that provide a secure, scalable and policy-driven foundation for hosting applications across European and other markets. You will design and implement Infrastructure as Code components using Terraform, improve reusable platform-as-a-service blueprints and contribute to Vodafone’s migration from traditional data centres to Microsoft Azure. Working with cloud and DevOps engineers, you will help deliver enterprise-grade platform features from backlog refinement through testing and production deployment. This individual-contributor role requires at least seven years of relevant experience.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and enhance cloud-native platform capabilities, including creating new Terraform modules, implementing features, resolving issues and optimising existing infrastructure code
• Translate user stories and platform feature requests into clean, reusable, well-documented and testable Terraform code
• Participate in code reviews and pre-production testing with DevOps engineers, ensuring solutions meet production-readiness, security and platform-compliance requirements
• Support the deployment of Azure services across strategic regions in Europe and beyond, maintaining high standards of performance, security and compliance
• Work with Azure services and capabilities including Azure Policy, Management Groups, Firewall, DNS, ExpressRoute, Azure Kubernetes Service and monitoring solutions
• Use GitHub Enterprise and Azure DevOps to manage source code, delivery workflows and agile DevOps processes
• Contribute to backlog reduction and the delivery of Azure Landing Zone features
• Participate actively in stand-ups, planning sessions, retrospectives and other agile team activities
• Support the availability, compliance and continuous improvement of a strategically important Azure platform
• Evaluate implementation options, test solutions thoroughly and elevate complex issues appropriately

Who You Are

• You hold a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related technical discipline
• You have at least seven years of relevant professional experience in cloud computing, software engineering or IT infrastructure
• You have practical experience with Terraform or another Infrastructure as Code tool
• You understand Microsoft Azure cloud-native solutions and enterprise cloud architecture
• You have hands‑on knowledge of Azure Management Groups, Azure Policy and Azure networking, including Firewall, DNS and ExpressRoute
• You have experience using Azure DevOps and GitHub Enterprise
• Experience with Azure Resource Manager templates is beneficial
• You have worked with Azure Log Analytics or comparable monitoring and observability frameworks
• You understand cloud computing, DevOps principles, version control and automated infrastructure deployment
• You can produce maintainable infrastructure code and clear technical documentation
• You approach technical challenges analytically and collaborate effectively with engineering colleagues
• You communicate confidently in written and spoken English, including during code reviews, stand‑ups and technical discussions
• You demonstrate ownership, accountability, a quality‑focused approach and a commitment to developing your cloud and DevOps expertise
