Job summary

PwC India seeks an experienced Senior Cloud Architect to define and drive enterprise cloud strategy across the organization. You will lead end-to-end AWS design for complex solutions and mentor architecture teams while engaging with executives to align technology with business goals.

Responsibilities include leading Well-Architected reviews, designing cross-service integrations, and advancing FinOps and cost governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
• 15+ years of IT architecture or software engineering experience.
• 6+ years of hands-on AWS experience in architecture design and implementation.
• Mastery across AWS Well-Architected Framework pillars and enterprise-scale programs.
• Experience leading cross-service integrations (API Gateway, Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, AppSync, SQS/SNS, Kinesis).

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive cloud architecture strategy across the organization.
• Lead end-to-end cloud architecture design for complex, enterprise-scale solutions on AWS.
• Design cloud architecture solutions leveraging the full breadth of AWS services including compute (EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS, Fargate), storage (S3, EBS, EFS), databases (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, Neptune, Redshift), and networking (VPC, Transit Gateway, CloudFront, Global Accelerator, Route 53, PrivateLink).
• Lead and institutionalize Well-Architected Framework reviews using the AWS WA Tool, driving continuous improvement across all six pillars (Operational Excellence, Security, Reliability, Performance Efficiency, Cost Optimization, Sustainability).
• Design enterprise-scale cross-service integrations using API Gateway, Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, SQS/SNS, AppSync, and Kinesis.
• Drive strategic FinOps initiatives using Cost Explorer, Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, Compute Optimizer, and AWS Budgets; establish cost governance frameworks.
• Architect multi-account Landing Zone strategies using AWS Control Tower, Organizations, and Service Control Policies (SCPs).
• Establish architecture governance frameworks, review boards, and design authority processes.
• Drive strategic initiatives around performance engineering using CloudWatch, X-Ray, Trusted Advisor, and Compute Optimizer.
• Lead and mentor architecture teams, building organizational capability.
• Engage with executive stakeholders to align technology strategy with business objectives.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Security, QA, and business teams for delivery excellence.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in IT architecture or software engineering.
• 6+ years of hands-on AWS experience in architecture design and implementation.
• Mastery of AWS architecture design spanning all six Well-Architected Framework pillars.
• Proven track record leading enterprise-scale cloud architecture programs.
• Extensive experience with complex cross-service integrations (API Gateway, Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, AppSync, SQS/SNS, Kinesis).
• Expert-level proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK).
• Strategic experience in FinOps, cost governance, and performance engineering using Cost Explorer, Compute Optimizer, and AWS Budgets.
• Experience architecting multi-account Landing Zones with Control Tower, Organizations, and Service Control Policies.
• Strong understanding of application security, identity management (IAM, Cognito, SSO), and cloud governance (AWS Config, Service Catalog, GuardDuty, Security Hub).
• Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to drive architectural decisions at the executive level.
• Knowledge of Agile Methodology and Practices.
• Deep experience with microservices architecture, serverless patterns, and event-driven design.

• AWS Solutions Architect Professional or Specialty certifications.
• Experience with AI tools in development lifecycles (GitHub CoPilot, Cursor) and brought in efficiencies.
• DevOps experience (CI/CD pipelines using CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Experience with AWS migration tools (DMS, SCT, Migration Hub, AWS Transform).
• Multi-cloud architecture experience (Azure, GCP).
• Experience building and scaling architecture practices within consulting organizations.
• Experience with AWS Well-Architected Partner program and conducting formal reviews.
