AWS Serverless Engineer (Python)

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Serverless Engineer with strong expertise in Python development to design and build scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud-native applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands‑on experience with AWS serverless services, automation, and modern DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable serverless applications on AWS
• Develop robust backend services and automation scripts using Python
• Build event‑driven architectures using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, SQS, SNS, and DynamoDB
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments
• Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of cloud solutions
• Implement security best practices including IAM policies, encryption, and compliance controls
• Monitor applications using CloudWatch, X-Ray, and logging frameworks
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including DevOps, QA, and Product

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 7+ years of overall IT experience
• Minimum 3+ years of hands‑on experience in AWS serverless architecture
• Strong programming skills in Python
• Expertise in AWS services such as:

  • API Gateway

  • DynamoDB

• Experience with microservices and event‑driven architecture
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline)
• Knowledge of Docker and containerization concepts
• Strong understanding of networking concepts (VPC, subnets, security groups)
• Proficiency with version control systems such as Git

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes
• Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools
• Experience in performance tuning and cost optimization
• AWS Certification (Solutions Architect / Developer / DevOps)
