Qualifications

• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to operate independently in ambiguous situations.
• Experience with Agile, Scrum or other iterative product management styles.
• Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills to drive adoption of new systems.

Job Description

Ares is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Associate Vice President to join the Fund Launch, Onboarding and Wind Down (“FLOW”) team and act as the business liaison to technology [across multiple initiatives supporting the fund launch lifecycle for Private Credit, Real Estate, Private Equity, and Secondaries funds,]. In this role, the successful candidate will help bridge the gap between the business and technology by analyzing interconnected operational processes, documenting requirements, and supporting the full development lifecycle, including release testing and change management.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting ideas, documenting and improving business processes, working with data, and solving problems creatively. The role focuses on implementing practical, high-impact solutions that strengthen business operations across the firm.
The ideal candidate is collaborative, agile, innovative, and proactive and must possess the ability to think critically and holistically while maintaining strong attention to detail.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES -

Process Improvements:

• Collaborate with stakeholders across operational teams to understand workflows, identify team-specific and intersectional opportunities for improvement, and translate requirements into development-ready enhancements
• Bridge the gap between the business and technology to effectively execute on stakeholder-driven system enhancements from documenting requirements through testing to final release
• Help to design, document and execute User Acceptance Test plans to validate enhancements as well as periodic regression testing to validate end-to‑end business workflows, ensure functional requirements and performance standards and surface any defects post release
• Help to standardize processes and increase adoption through change management efforts, including by creating clear documentation for workflows, SOPs, and system processes, including maintaining an internal knowledge base and cross‑functional training, as requested

Data, Reporting, AI:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and document key data related to their processes
• Analyze data sets across stakeholder workflows and systems to identify opportunities for standardization, including documenting stakeholder or related system data dictionaries, use cases and opportunities for unifying data initiatives to ensure data integrity
• Document reporting requirements and related data, including sourcing, ownership, definitions, and maintenance of knowledge base to ensure consistent data usage
• Work with stakeholders and technology to identify, document, and implement use cases for AI tools across systems, including automation, self‑service portals, data and reporting to increase efficiencies and speed to execution
• Provide support for data integration between systems, including analysis, audits and backfill projects, as needed

QUALIFICATIONS-

Education: BS/BA with degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or General Business preferred, with outstanding academic record

Experience and Skills Required:

• 7+ years of relevant work experience in a business analyst or project management role, preferably within asset management
• Proven ability to effectively translate and document business and technology requirements and adjust communication style to fit the audience
• Strong problem‑solver with ability to identify and resolve issues before they become issues
• Self‑motivated and able to operate independently, proactively seeking clarity in ambiguous situations
• Highly adaptable and able to pivot quickly in response to changing priorities
• Analytical thinker with proven history of surfacing actionable insights to inform prioritization of process and data improvements across systems and enhancement requests
• Highly adaptable and able to reassess and pivot in response to quickly changing priorities
• Familiar with Agile, Scrum or other iterative product management style
• Able to leverage excellent interpersonal and inter‑cultural skills to drive execution and adoption of new systems and processes

Strongly Preferred:

• Experience in the asset management industry, legal and/or fund operations a plus
• Demonstrable knowledge of workflow, data mastering and other business applications within the corporate tech stack: Salesforce, DealCloud, Coupa, Sharepoint, GEMS or equivalent
• Experience with APIs, SQL, XL Connector, Power Automate
