Job summary

Inde Dutch Engineering & Aerospace Services Ltd is seeking an experienced Application Engineer – AVEVA PI DevOps to join our Operations IT team. The role focuses on AVEVA PI / PI Data Historian, application support, reporting, and DevOps practices across sites and production lines.

You will provide L2/L3 support, implement RT Reports, collaborate with infrastructure and database teams, and help ensure reliable, controlled deployments in a business-critical environment.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of technical application support experience.
• Strong hands-on AVEVA PI / PI Data Historian experience.
• Experience with AVEVA PI implementation, RT Report development, maintenance, and technical support.
• Strong understanding of AVEVA PI architecture, components, and business functionality.
• Experience with SQL/Oracle and complex queries.
• Familiar with DevOps tools, Agile methodologies, build/deploy, release management.
• Experience in Windows application environments and client-server concepts.
• Knowledge of Incident, Problem, Change, and Release management.

Responsibilities

• Understand business and user requirements and support the implementation and expansion of AVEVA PI across sites and production lines.
• Provide L2/L3 technical support, including incident resolution, bug fixes, troubleshooting, and small application enhancements.
• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot RT Reports and related reporting solutions.
• Support application build and deployment activities, environment setup, configuration management, change management, and release management.
• Troubleshoot application, platform, database, and integration issues and drive issues through to resolution or appropriate escalation.
• Work closely with infrastructure, middleware, database, business, and third‑party vendor teams to resolve complex technical issues.
• Prepare technical and project documentation in accordance with GDP and organizational standards.
• Apply technical knowledge across multiple systems and support different business functions and global teams.
• Develop specialist knowledge of relevant applications and share knowledge through documentation, training, and mentoring.
• Participate in Agile/DevOps activities and contribute to continuous improvement of application support and delivery processes.
• Mentor and guide new team members and contribute to knowledge-sharing activities.

Essential Skills & Experience

• 3–6 years of technical application support experience, with strong hands‑on experience in AVEVA PI / PI Data Historian.
• Experience in AVEVA PI implementation, RT Report development, maintenance, and technical support.
• Strong understanding of AVEVA PI architecture, components, and business functionality.
• Experience with PI Data Archive, Asset Framework (AF), PI Interfaces/Connectors, PI Vision, and related PI components.
• Strong experience with SQL/Oracle, including complex queries and stored procedures.
• Good understanding of DevOps tools, Agile methodologies, build/deployment, and release management.
• Experience working in Windows application environments and understanding of client‑server/distributed computing concepts.
• Understanding of Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management processes.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with geographically distributed teams and multiple stakeholders.

Good to Have

• Experience working in the Pharma / Life Sciences industry.
• Understanding of GxP, GDP, data integrity, and validated environments.
• Experience with Microsoft IIS and Web Services.
• Experience setting up and managing application environments.
• Experience supporting business‑critical applications in a regulated environment.
• Familiarity with ITIL‑based support processes.

Educational Qualifications

• B.Tech / B.E. / Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or an equivalent technical qualification.
