Job summary

Luxoft in India is seeking an experienced Avaloq CAPI Tech Lead to take technical ownership of our Avaloq CAPI integration landscape, guiding a team of developers while remaining hands‑on with design and delivery.

You will set technical direction, ensure engineering quality and best practice across the team, and act as the primary technical point of contact between engineering, architecture, and business stakeholders for all CAPI‑related work.

Qualifications

• 8+ years general software development experience.
• 5+ years developing with Avaloq (CAPI) and mentoring capability.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL and Avaloq Script.
• Deep understanding of Avaloq Core Banking Platform architecture and AMI integration.
• Experience with Agile delivery and release management.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and delivery of CAPI-based interfaces.
• Set technical direction and coding standards for the CAPI team.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership, code reviews, and complex development work.
• Own the CAPI interface layer architecture and integration with AMI.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs with architects.
• Mentor developers and promote Avaloq best practices.
• Manage technical risk including performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Escalate complex technical issues and production incidents.
• Collaborate with project managers on planning and delivery strategy.
• Drive continuous improvement of development practices and release processes.
• Produce and review technical documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.

You will set technical direction, ensure engineering quality and best practice across the team, and act as the primary technical point of contact between engineering, architecture, and business stakeholders for all CAPI‑related work.

Responsibilities

• Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the design, development, and delivery of CAPI‑based interfaces between Avaloq and internal/external banking systems
• Set technical direction and coding standards for the CAPI development team, ensuring consistency and quality across the codebase
• Provide hands‑on technical leadership: design solutions, review code, and contribute directly to complex or high‑risk development work
• Own the technical architecture of the CAPI interface layer, including its integration with AMI and other Avaloq components
• Translate business and functional requirements into technical designs, in partnership with architects and business analysts
• Mentor and coach developers, supporting their technical growth and providing guidance on Avaloq best practice
• Manage technical risk, including performance, scalability, and maintainability of CAPI interfaces in production
• Act as the escalation point for complex technical issues and production incidents relating to CAPI
• Partner with project and programme managers on planning, estimation, and delivery strategy for CAPI workstreams
• Drive continuous improvement of development practices, tooling, and release processes
• Produce and review technical documentation and design artefacts for technical and non‑technical audiences

SKILLS

Must have

• Extensive hands‑on experience 8+ years in general and 5+ years developing with Avaloq, with deep expertise in CAPI (Avaloq’s scripting/customization interface)
• Prior experience leading or informally guiding a development team, with strong mentoring and coaching ability
• Strong knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL and Avaloq Script
• Deep understanding of the Avaloq Core Banking Platform’s architecture, data model, and interface layer (CAPI/AMI)
• Strong understanding of core banking processes and products (e.g. payments, securities trading, settlement, client onboarding, or credit/loans — tailor to your team's focus)
• Proven ability to design scalable, maintainable technical solutions and set technical direction for a team
• Solid grounding in software development lifecycle practices, Agile delivery, and release/change management
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical trade‑offs to senior business and technology stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, particularly in diagnosing complex production issues

Nice to have

• Experience with other Avaloq interfaces and modules (AMI, SWIFT messaging, Reporting, Corporate Actions)
• Prior experience in a financial services or private banking environment
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and ServiceNow
• Avaloq certification(s)
• Experience contributing to architecture or design authority forums
