Position: AV Service & Project Manager

About the Role
As the AV Service & Project Manager, you will play a key role in managing and advancing the university's Audio-Visual (AV) and Video Conferencing ecosystem. This includes overseeing service management, vendor coordination, and project execution to ensure seamless, high-quality AV experiences across campus.
You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring the timely delivery of AV and video conferencing solutions, and enhancing user experience through best practices, innovative technologies, and reliable infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- AV Operations & Service Management
- Oversee daily operations of all AV and video conferencing systems across classrooms, conference halls, and event venues.
- Ensure responsive, high-quality technical support for diverse users.
- Establish, document, and enforce AV best practices and standard operating procedures.
- Project & Vendor Management
- Coordinate end-to-end AV and Video Conferencing projects from design and planning to implementation and handover.
- Prepare AV BOQs, select suitable integrators, and negotiate on technical and cost parameters.
- Manage project timelines, scope, budgets, and quality standards.
- Liaise with internal teams and external vendors for seamless project delivery.
- Technical Expertise & Support
- Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot AV equipment — including microphones, speakers, projectors, video displays, digital cameras, mixers, and streaming systems.
- Manage live events, webinars, and online meetings using platforms such as Zoom, MS Teams, WebEx, BlueJeans, etc.
- Proactively maintain AV equipment and ensure availability of required supplies and spares.
- Maintain technical documentation, user guides, and internal knowledge bases.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Stay current with emerging AV and video technologies to recommend upgrades and optimizations.
- Evaluate new tools, systems, and applications to enhance learning and collaboration environments.
- Promote new technologies and train users on updated tools and systems.
What You Should Have
- Experience: 9+ years of progressive experience in IT-AV management, project delivery, and end-user support.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Electronics, Computer Science, or related field with strong academic performance.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- AVIXA CTS or equivalent AV certification
- ITIL Foundation certification
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of AV systems, integration, networking, switching, and control systems.
- Experience with Polycom, Zoom, OBS, Restream, Vmix, Switchboard, and other streaming tools.
- Familiarity with architectural, cabling, and control system standards.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight timelines.
- A proactive, data-driven, and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Work Flexibility:
- Willingness to work beyond standard hours as required for events and installations.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Information Technology / Electronics / Electrical / Computer Science / Communication or a related field (mandatory).
Certifications (Highly Desirable)
- AVIXA CTS / CTS-D / CTS-I (Certified Technology Specialist – Design/Integration)
- ITIL Foundation Certification (Service Management)
- PMP / PRINCE2 (Project Management Certification – optional but preferred)
