Job Title: Automotive Diagnostic Engineer
Location: Chennai, India
1. Develop and implement advanced diagnostic algorithms and methodologies for fault detection and troubleshooting of Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and onboard systems.
2. Development and execution of complex diagnostic functions, including software and dataset flashing, calibrations, routine executions and parameter configuration resets.
3. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (R&D, Field service, Projects etc.) to gather inputs, analyse system architecture, topology and understand failure behaviour to develop diagnostics.
4. Utilize vehicle logs, sensor data readings, and trouble codes to perform comprehensive analysis and identify root causes of performance issues.
5. Design and conduct validation tests to ensure the effectiveness and reliability of diagnostic solutions in real-world scenarios.
6. Oversee release management processes for diagnostic updates, ensuring seamless integration and deployment in the field.
7. Develop detailed documentation of diagnostic procedures, specifications, and test results to support internal reference and regulatory compliance efforts.
8. Provide expert technical support to field service engineers and technicians, prioritizing customer satisfaction and timely issue resolution.
9. Oversee project status, forecast trends, timeline, and resource utilization for projects to ensure efficient execution and delivery within established parameters.
1. Strong proficiency in Grade X knowledge, including advanced authoring capabilities.
2. Expertise in CAN protocol, ISO 14229-1, and J-1939.
3. Familiarity with ODX diagnostic development for $22, $2E and $31 services for IC and EV automotives.
