Job summary

Buoyant Labs seeks an Automation Testing Intern in Mumbai to build and maintain automated test scripts using Python and Playwright, and to develop API test cases for REST endpoints. You will work with the team during sprints to identify defects early, and help improve test coverage and performance of the automation framework.

Qualifications

• Candidates pursuing or having completed BE/BTech/BSc/BCA/MCA in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
• Comfortable writing Python at a working level (loops, functions, classes, libraries)
• Hands-on exposure to any automation or testing tool (Playwright, Selenium, Pytest, Postman, JMeter) through coursework, internships, or personal projects
• Working knowledge of Git and GitHub
• Basic understanding of HTTP, REST APIs, and JSON
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail, with clear written communication for bug reports
• Candidates with a GitHub profile or personal automation projects will be given preference

Responsibilities

About the internship:

About Buoyant Labs: Buoyant Labs builds technology and AI-driven products that help organizations make better-informed investment decisions in financial markets. As an Automation Testing Intern, you will help ensure the reliability and accuracy of systems where correctness genuinely matters.

What you will do:

1. Build, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for web applications using Python and Playwright.
2. Write and execute API test cases for REST endpoints, validating response codes, payloads, schemas, and edge-case behaviour.
3. Translate product requirements into clear, reusable test cases and contribute to regression suites.
4. Work alongside developers in sprint cycles to identify defects early, log them with clear reproduction steps, and verify fixes.

What you will learn:

Who this is for:

We are looking for someone curious and detail-oriented who enjoys breaking things to understand how they work. You do not need years of experience strong Python fundamentals, clear thinking, and genuine interest in quality engineering matter far more to us. Prior exposure to Selenium, Playwright, or any automation tool through coursework or personal projects is a strong plus.

High-performing interns will be considered for an extended engagement with us.
