Job summary

Responsibilities

Role & Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of end-to-end test automation frameworks for complex railway product systems.
• Develop and enhance reusable automation libraries, test runners, execution infrastructure, reporting, and evidence-generation mechanisms.
• Develop C++ test harnesses/simulators for SIL environments, where applicable.
• Develop Python/Pytest automation for non-SIL subsystems, orchestration, log parsing, and test tooling.
• Drive automated integration and regression testing and continuously improve test-suite reliability and reduce flakiness.
• Work closely with Test, Development, Configuration Management, and Lab/Simulation teams to convert product specifications into maintainable automated tests.
• Perform structured debugging across application, OS, protocol, and automation logs to identify root causes.
• Integrate automation with CI/CD environments and ensure reliable execution and artifact generation.
• Ensure test results, logs, reports, and evidence are traceable and audit-ready for safety-critical product environments.
• Provide technical ownership and contribute to continuous improvement of the automation strategy and framework.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Strong experience in Test Automation Engineering / SDET, preferably in a product engineering environment.
• Proven experience building and owning a test automation framework from scratch, end-to-end.
• Strong programming skills in Python with Pytest OR C++ with simulation experience.
• Mandatory hands-on experience working on Linux systems.
• Strong understanding of system, integration, and regression testing.
• Experience with automation framework architecture, reusable components, test data/configuration management, reporting, and logging.
• Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills across application, OS, and protocol layers.
• Experience with simulation, SIL/HIL, test harnesses, or device communication is highly desirable.
• Experience with CI/CD and automated regression execution is preferred.
• Experience in railway, telecom, automotive, aerospace, industrial automation, or other complex/safety-critical products will be an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving, ownership, collaboration, and technical communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent.
