Job summary

Machinify is opening a Bengaluru hub that isn't a satellite office or support function: it's a genuine extension of one global Machinify, with local leaders owning product and outcomes. The Automation team removes manual work from the operations of the business, building automations that connect internal and external applications and replace repetitive hand-work with reliable jobs.

You own end-to-end delivery from discovery to production support.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional programming in Python, C#, or similar languages.
• Experience with screen-space and background automation tradeoffs.
• Experience integrating systems via REST APIs including authentication, pagination and error handling.
• Hands-on prompt engineering: writes prompts to produce working code or workflows.
• Comfortable in Linux and Windows environments.
• Ability to work independently from requirements to production and communicate with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Meet with business analysts and operations teams to understand manual processes and define automation goals.
• Design and build automations in Python, C#, and scripting languages that integrate apps via APIs, files, databases, and message queues.
• Create UI-driven automations where APIs do not exist and evaluate when to use them versus background integrations.
• Write and refine prompts to generate automation workflows with AI tools and deliver production-grade automations.
• Use existing automation tooling and help migrate Power Automate and UiPath workflows to code-based solutions.
• Build in logging, error handling, alerting, and retry logic for reliable operations.
• Test with business users, perform UAT, and monitor production performance.
• Document developments so teammates and the business can operate and maintain them.

About the Role

Machinify's Automation team removes manual work from the operations that run our business. You partner with business analysts and the lines of business to understand how work gets done today, then build the automations that do it faster and more accurately: connecting internal and external applications, moving data between systems that were never designed to talk to each other, and replacing repetitive hand-work with reliable, monitored jobs. Much of the work is code: Python, C#, scripts, and APIs, plus screen-driven automation where no API exists. You also use AI to build, writing prompts that generate automation workflows, then developing, testing, and hardening what comes out. You own what you build end to end, from discovery with the business through production support.

This role works with protected health information and requires HIPAA training.

What You Will Own

• Meet with business analysts and operations teams to understand manual processes, identify what can be automated, and define what “done” looks like.
• Design and build automations in Python, C#, and scripting languages that integrate internal and third‑party applications through APIs, files, databases, and message queues.
• Build screen-space (UI-driven) automations where no API or integration point exists, and know when that is the right choice versus a background integration.
• Write and refine prompts to generate automation workflows with AI tools, then develop, test, and refine the results into production‑quality automations.
• Use Machinify's internally developed automation tooling, and support existing Power Automate and UiPath workflows while we migrate them to code‑based solutions.
• Build in logging, error handling, alerting, and retry logic so failures are visible and recoverable without manual babysitting.
• Test against real cases with the business, take work through user acceptance, and track how it performs in production.
• Document what you build so teammates and the business can understand, run, and maintain it.

Screen‑Space (UI-Driven)

• Use when: no API or integration point exists.
• Built with: internal automation tooling; existing Power Automate and UiPath workflows during migration.
• Production standard: logging, error handling, alerting, and retry logic. Tested with the business, through UAT, and tracked in production.

Background (API, Service, Scheduled Job)

• Use when: an API, file, database, or message queue is available.
• Built with: Python, C#, PowerShell, Bash, REST APIs, JSON, XML, CSV, and SQL.
• Production standard: same standard applies.

Qualifications

Required

• 4+ years of professional programming in Python, C#, or similar languages, plus scripting (PowerShell, Bash).
• Working knowledge of how screen-space and background (API, service, scheduled job) automation work, and the tradeoffs between them.
• Experience integrating systems through REST APIs, including authentication, pagination, and error handling. Works with JSON, XML, CSV, and SQL databases.
• Hands‑on prompt engineering: writes prompts to produce working code or workflows, tests the output, and iterates until it holds up.
• Comfortable in both Linux and Windows environments.
• Can work independently on a defined body of work and take it from requirements to production.
• Clear communication with business and technical teammates, including explaining technical tradeoffs to non‑technical process owners.

Preferred

• Power Automate, UiPath, or similar RPA platforms, including migrating workflows off them.
• Building agents or automations with Claude or similar LLM tools.
• Microsoft 365 integrations (SharePoint, Outlook, Teams, Graph API).
• US healthcare payer operations, claims, or payment integrity.
• CI/CD, containers, or cloud services (AWS).
• UAT and release processes.
