Job description

Role Purpose

The purpose of the role is to design, program, simulate and test the automation product or process to achieve the efficiency and effectiveness required.

Responsibilities

• 1. Understand software requirements and design
  • Analyze and understand the current technology architecture, system interdependencies and application stacks.
  • Formulate project plans working with project management and outline steps required to develop and submit plans for approval.
  • Understand current operating procedures by consulting with users/partners/clients and reviewing project objectives regularly.
  • Contribute to the automation roadmap design and testing process improvements by researching automation architectures and developing new solutions.
  • Improve and maintain the automation framework for horizontal use across technology stacks and build reusable libraries across business line verticals.
• 2. Design and execute software development and reporting
  • Ensure the environment is ready for execution; design test plans, develop test cases/scenarios/usage cases and execute them.
  • Develop technical specifications, resolve complex technical design issues.
  • Participate and conduct design activities with the development team for testing automation processes for functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Implement, track, and report key metrics to assure full coverage of requirements through automation.
  • Eliminate errors by owning testing and validation of code.
  • Track problems, resolutions, and bug fixes, maintain a defect database.
  • Provide problem resolutions using available resources for research.
  • Design and implement automated testing tools and update them as needed.
  • Develop and automate processes for software validation by setting up and designing test cases/scenarios/usage cases, and executing them.
  • Develop efficient programs adhering to WIPRO standards using best practices, referencing documentation, and accepted design patterns.
• 3. Ensure smooth communication with customer & internal stakeholders
  • Work with Agile delivery teams to understand product vision and backlogs; develop robust, scalable, high-quality test automation tests for functional, regression, and performance testing.
  • Assist in creating acceptance criteria for user stories and generate a test automation backlog.
  • Collaborate with Development team to improve continuous deployment practices, develop strategies, formalize processes, and provide tools.
  • Work closely with business Subject Matter Experts to understand requirements, then design, build, and deploy applications using automation tools.
  • Document projects per WIPRO guidelines for long‑term maintainability.
  • Ensure clear and effective communication with test personnel, users, developers, and clients.
  • Provide assistance to testers and support personnel as needed to determine system problems.
  • Perform backend/database programming for key projects.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry standards and incorporate them appropriately.
  • Design and implement automated testing tools and update them to ensure efficiency.
