Job Description

JCPL is seeking a qualified and experienced Automation Engineer for the Bauxite Handling Area at Vedanta Ltd., Lanjigarh. The ideal candidate must possess strong technical expertise in Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC systems, with sound knowledge of industrial automation and process control systems used in Raw Material Handling Plants (RMHS).

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot PLC, SCADA, and control systems for plant operations in the Bauxite Handling Area.
• Perform logic modification, system programming, and configuration in Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs.
• Ensure proper functioning of interlocks, safety circuits, and communication between control systems and field instruments.
• Diagnose and resolve automation-related issues in Stacker & Reclaimer, Conveyors, Belt Weigh Feeders, and Crushers.
• Carry out calibration and maintenance of sensors, encoders, transmitters, and field instruments.
• Maintain updated PLC logic backups, SCADA configurations, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with mechanical and electrical maintenance teams for seamless plant operation.
• Ensure strict compliance with safety and preventive maintenance standards.

Required Skills & Knowledge

• Hands-on experience in Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Good understanding of SCADA systems, HMI interfaces, and communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, and Ethernet.
• Knowledge of VFD integration, control loops, and process instrumentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in automation control systems.
• Experience in automation system optimization and reliability improvement initiatives.

Preferred Experience

• Prior work experience in Bauxite Handling / Alumina Refinery / Aluminium Industry.
• Exposure to O&M service environments or large-scale process automation systems.
