Job summary

Ciklum in India invites a Senior Automation and QA Principal Lead to join our team and oversee automation across web and backend/API testing. You will architect from scratch, migrate to Playwright, and integrate tests into CI/CD, while mentoring the QA staff and improving quality metrics.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, global product environment, shaping testing standards, frameworks, and best practices to deliver robust software solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in QA Automation of Web and backend/API testing
• Experience using AI development tools (Claude) to accelerate script creation and maintenance
• Excellent knowledge of different testing methods, techniques, types, and methodologies
• Experience creating test documentation (test strategy, test plans, etc.)
• Experience in the creation of automation frameworks from scratch
• Experience in integrating test reporting (Allure or similar)
• Experience with BDD, ATDD, and TDD approaches
• Knowledge of testing framework such as PlaywrightJS / PuppeteerJS / WebdriverIO
• Experience with at least one of test runners: JasmineJS, MochaJS, Jest, AVA, Playwright
• Understanding of the event loop model in Javascript and async execution
• Good understanding of CSS and XPATH selectors syntax
• Experience with continuous integration processes at least one (Jenkins, Bitbucket CI/CD, Github Actions, teamcity, or similar)
• Experience of working with version control systems (e.g. GIT, SVN and others)
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum/Kanban.
• Experience with continuous integration processes and tools, CI/CD pipelines
• Good knowledge of AWS/Azure DevOps services
• Good Knowledge of SQL and no-SQL DBs (PostgreSQL, mongo, redis, etc.)
• Experience of working in an Agile Scrum/Kanban development environment
• Good English skills – Upper-Intermediate and above
• Strong level spoken and written proficiency in English
• Availability to work with 4 hours of overlap with the central US area

About the role:
