AutoCAD Customization/Integration Engineer

Timings: 2:00 PM-11:00 PM IST

Employment Mode : Open to both Full Time Employment or Contract

Duration: Multi-Year Long Term

Our client, a leading modular Home Builder based in US, is looking for an AutoCAD Customization/Integration Engineer to help build integrations from AutoCAD MEP to PTC Windchill+ for manufactured housing design and engineering workflows. This role is essential to build seamless data exchange between their Design Authoring environment (AutoCAD) and product lifecycle management system (Windchill) across multiple manufacturing plants.

Technical expertise in C# and AutoLISP or ObjectARX is mandatory. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience on AutoCAD customization, with the ability to understand complex manufacturing workflows in the modular construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

Development

• Design, develop, and implement bidirectional integrations between PTC Windchill+ and AutoCAD MEP using Windchill APIs, REST services, and AutoCAD .NET API (C#), AutoLISP, or ObjectARX
• Build automated workflows for CAD file check‑in/check‑out, revision management, and metadata synchronization between systems
• Develop custom AutoCAD plugins and tools to streamline designer workflows and enforce PLM‑driven design standards
• Implement Bill of Materials (BOM) extraction from AutoCAD drawings and synchronize with Windchill E‑BOM structures
• Create automated processes for handling design variants, options, and plant‑specific configurations
• Work with PLM partner with engineering, PLM, and data workstream teams to understand requirements and translate them to architects to design scalable integration patterns that support 50+ manufacturing plants
• Optimize data transfer mechanisms to handle large CAD drawing packages efficiently
• Implement error handling, logging, and monitoring for integration processes
• Ensure integration reliability and data integrity across system boundaries

Support

• Provide support for technical solutions
• Provide training guides for CAD designers and engineers on proper use of integrated workflows
• Document integration architecture, APIs, configuration procedures, and troubleshooting guides
• Support go‑live activities and provide post‑implementation support across plant rollouts

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Strong experience with AutoCAD customization using C#, AutoLISP, or ObjectARX
• Experience with AutoCAD MEP or similar discipline‑specific AutoCAD variants
• Experience with Windchill APIs, Web Services development
• Understanding of PLM concepts including BOMs, change management, revision control, and product structures
• Proficiency in REST/SOAP web services, JSON/XML data formats
• Working knowledge of SQL and database concepts
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to debug complex system interactions
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in manufactured housing, modular construction, or similar discrete manufacturing industries
• Background in architectural or construction drawing standards
• Knowledge of CPQ (Configure‑Price‑Quote) systems and product configuration management
• Experience with PTC ThingWorx or other Windchill extension frameworks
• Understanding of Agile development methodologies
