Desk Expansion is hiring an Australian Accountant cum Finance Specialist for our Zirakpur office, Punjab. The role is full-time, on-site with immediate or flexible start.

You will lead end-to-end month-end processes, oversee financial reporting, and ensure GST/BAS compliance for multi-entity Australian clients. You will collaborate with the Australia team, mentor juniors, and deliver accurate, audit-ready books with strong analytical insights.

Qualifications

• 57 years of experience in Australian accounting.
• Expertise in month-end close, financial reporting, accruals and adjustments.
• Multi-entity accounting and GST/BAS compliance.
• Hands-on with MYOB, Xero and QuickBooks.
• Strong reconciliation and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end month-end close for assigned clients.
• Prepare and review: Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow statements.
• Produce management reports and variance analysis.
• Coordinate with Australia-based team and junior accountants.
• Ensure deliverables are accurate and meet deadlines for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
• Maintain audit-ready books and proper working papers.

As we scale, we are looking for a Senior Accountant specialising in financial reporting and

month-end processes, who can handle complex clients, ensure accuracy in reporting, and

build strong accounting foundations before final review.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Month-End Close

• Manage end-to-end month-end close process for assigned clients.
• Prepare and review:Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow
• Management Reports and variance analysis
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting aligned with client expectations.
• Maintain proper working papers and reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts.

Advanced Accounting & Adjustments

• Pass and review accruals, prepayments, and adjustment journals.
• Handle inter-entity / inter-branch transactions and reconciliations.
• Ensure correct treatment of complex transactions across entities.
• Maintain clean and audit-ready books at all times.

Coordination & Delivery Management

• Work closely with the Australia-based team to understand client expectations.
• Coordinate with junior accountants and team members for execution of work.
• Ensure all deliverables are complete, accurate, and ready for quality review.
• Meet strict deadlines for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.

Business Understanding & Insights

• Develop a strong understanding of client business models and industries.
• Identify inconsistencies, unusual trends, or risks in financial data.
• Support the team in building meaningful financial insights, not just numbers.

Process Adherence & System Discipline

• Follow all standard templates, SOPs, and accounting frameworks.
• Ensure documentation, file structuring, and working papers are maintained properly.
• Contribute to improving reporting templates and accounting workflows.
