Job summary

PwC Acceleration Center Kolkata seeks a Senior Associate in Audit & Assurance to provide independent, objective assessments of financial statements and internal controls. You will work with global teams across Advisory, Assurance, Tax and Business Services to deliver high-quality audits and insights.

You will lead day-to-day bookkeeping, coordinate with clients, and mentor junior staff while upholding PwC standards and ethics.

Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Accountant with 4+ years of experience (including articles).
• Strong communication and English language skills.

As an Audit & Assurance - Specialized Services - Senior Associate, you will play a pivotal role in providing independent and objective assessments of financial statements and internal controls, enhancing the credibility and reliability of information for various stakeholders. Within our Assurance practice, you will focus on obtaining reasonable assurance about whether financial statements are free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error, and issue an auditor's report that includes your professional opinion.

As a Senior Associate, you will build meaningful client connections and learn how to manage and inspire others. You are expected to anticipate the needs of your teams and clients, delivering quality work while embracing ambiguity. Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team to handle day-to-day accounting and investment activities of multiple entities, which includes processing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bank reconciliation, GST/Sales Tax Reconciliation, Investment Activity Reconciliation, T Slip Reconciliation, Employee expenses processing on cloud-based accounting platforms and Financial Statements and Management Accounts Review.
• Handling day-to-day bookkeeping of multiple clients and meeting deadlines.
• Establish effective working relationships directly with clients.
• Good accounting knowledge
• Knowledge of Canadian GST (preferred)
• MS Office (good knowledge of MS Excel)
• Handling junior team members
• Can independently manage project
• Knowledge in Xero Accounting Software would be an added advantage
• Utilizing auditing methodologies and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) to deliver quality audit reports
• Analyzing complex financial data to inform insights and recommendations for clients
• Upholding professional and technical standards, including adherence to PwC's code of conduct and independence requirements
• Building meaningful client connections and managing relationships to anticipate and address client needs
• Navigating complex situations and using critical thinking to solve problems and generate new ideas
• Mentoring junior team members and guiding them in understanding business context and strategy
• Developing and implementing data visualization and analysis techniques to enhance audit processes

What You Must Have

• Chartered Accountant
• At least 4 years of experience (including Articleship)
• Good communication skill
• Oral and written proficiency in English required
