Forward Eye Technologies is seeking an experienced Alation Platform Administrator to lead, design, build, and configure Alation applications within our data governance framework. You will handle end-to-end administration, optimization, and troubleshooting while supporting integration with data systems.

The role requires 8+ years in data governance or management, 3+ years with Alation, and strong SQL/Shell/Python skills. Location: on-site across major Indian cities.

We are looking for an Alation Platform Administrator to lead, design, build, and configure Alation applications to support business processes and application requirements within our data governance framework. As an expert in Alation Data Catalog, the ideal candidate will handle end-to-end administration, continuous optimization, and troubleshooting, while supporting integration with data systems and fostering collaboration among stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities :

Alation Platform Administration :

• - Oversee installation, configuration, and upgrades of the Alation platform.
• - Implement Alation best practices, performing periodic assessments and recommending improvements.

Tool Configuration & Customization :

• - Configure Alation to meet organizational needs in data cataloging, governance, and stewardship.
• - Customize metadata models, workflows, and user interfaces; manage Articles, Templates, and Business Glossary within Alation.
• - Implement and maintain role-based access control and data security protocols.

Data Integration :

• - Lead integration efforts between Alation and various data sources, such as databases, data lakes, and warehouses.
• - Collaborate with ETL teams to facilitate seamless data flow and resolve data ingestion issues.

User Support & Training :

• - Provide technical support for Alation users, including troubleshooting and guidance.
• - Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate teams on effective usage of Alation.

Stakeholder Collaboration :

• - Work closely with data governance, IT, and data management teams to ensure Alation aligns with organizational data strategy.
• - Liaise with business users, data stewards, and other stakeholders to capture requirements and ensure the platform fulfills business needs.

Qualifications :

• Educational Background : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field.

Experience :

• - 8+ years in data governance, data cataloging, or data management.
• - 3+ years of experience specifically with Alation and configuring its core components.

Skills :

• - Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data stewardship, and metadata management.
• - Hands-on experience in functional architecture and customization of Alation.
• - Familiarity with relational databases, ETL tools, and data warehousing environments.
• - Proficient in SQL and scripting languages like Python or Shell for automation and troubleshooting.

Certifications :

• Mandatory : Certification in Alation Data Administration.

Nice to Have :

• - Experience with data governance tools like Collibra or Informatica.
• - Experience in implementing Alation within large enterprise settings.
