Job summary

Ernst & Young Advisory Services Sdn Bhd in Kolkata seeks a Senior Manager for Assurance in Financial Services/WAM. You will be the main point of contact for GDS engagements, ensuring timeliness and quality of deliverables while managing day-to-day operations.

The role requires Assurance experience in Asset Management, coaching managers, delivering industry training, and growing the Asset Management practice.

Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAI) / CPA/ACCA.
• Approximately over 10 years of Assurance relevant experience with well-known CA firms.
• International experience of over 2 years will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop people: empower, monitor, coach and motivate the team; identify development opportunities; conduct performance reviews.
• Manage business and clients: build strong relationships in Asset Management, support growth and quality initiatives, connect GDS with engagement teams.
• Manage quality of service delivery: update curricula, organize technical training, address service delivery issues, share best practices.
• Oversee KPIs: growth, quality feedback, utilization, risk management, attrition, and take corrective actions.

EY- Assurance – Senior Manager

As part of our EY-Assurance Team, you would be the main point of contact from GDS for the tasks assigned by the global client serving assurance teams and be responsible for the timeliness and quality of deliverables along with managing day to day operations of those engagements.

The opportunity

We’re looking for individual who should have Assurance related experience in the Asset Management industry.

In addition to supporting the management of service delivery for several key clients, the incumbent should have the potential to coach managers in the Asset Management segment, provide technical support, deliver industry training and assist in growing the Asset Management practice.

Your key responsibilitie

Manage and develop people

• Be an effective manager by empowering, monitoring, coaching and motivating the team members.
• Identify development opportunities and training needs for high performing managers.
• Identify technical and non–technical training needs with respect to client servicing, decision making, people issues, etc
• Conduct Assurance team’s performance reviews, serve as a positive leader and mentor, and play a significant role in the team’s performance

Manage business and clients

• Develop and maintain strong relationship network with key contacts in the Asset Management sector of engagement teams
• Actively support the Sector agenda both in terms of growth and quality initiatives (e.g. improvement of service delivery, standardization of projects, new solutions, etc.)
• Enhance connectivity between GDS team and engagement teams and leverage good connections to identify more opportunities for work
• Actively support the communication agenda for the Asset Management sector
• Support the Segment Leader in developing annual growth, resource and activity plans
• Monitor KPIs (growth, quality feedback, utilization, risk management compliance, attrition, etc.) for the teams under supervision and take appropriate action wherever required

Manage quality of service delivery

• Identify sector–specific training needs, review and update current curriculum
• Assist in organizing and providing technical training (both Sector and Assurance methodology)
• Assist in addressing service delivery quality issues if and when they occur
• Support exceptional service delivery action programs
• Establish a practice of ‘Best Practice’ sharing within the Asset Management Segment teams

Skills and attributes for success

• Expert knowledge of Indian accounting and assurance standards
• Asset Management, assurance experience with specific focus on Hedge Funds and Private Equity
• Effective interpersonal, risk management, facilitation and presentation skills
• Project management, leadership, coaching, counselling and supervisory skills
• Strong project and people management skills with experience in serving global clients
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAI) / CPA/ACCA)

• Proficiency in MS – Excel, MS – Office.
