Skills And Competencies
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in financial system development or structured finance front-, middle-, or back-office preferred. This experience would preferably include an understanding of the servicing of financial services assets.
- Previous exposure to Structured Finance, preferably on the issuer side (side mortgages, auto loans, servicing loans, originating loans, and/or securitization of loans)
- Experience in structured finance products such as credit card receivables, auto loans and leases, residential mortgages, etc.
- Working knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) concepts.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate complex business and technical concepts to a senior audience.
- Track record of successful and timely delivery of technical projects preferably in a fast-paced consultancy environment.
- Client focused orientation with the drive and enthusiasm required to achieve results and assure customer satisfaction.
- Understanding of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Experience working in complex multidisciplinary projects in a global and multicultural organization.
- Experience with Moody’s proprietary systems (ABS Suite, Ki, ABS System) a plus.
- Prior experience modelling securitization structures, including master trusts a plus.
- Proficiency in VBA and/or Python preferred.
- Experience with SQL, complex financial modelling, or financial technology consulting preferred.
Education
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Define system interfaces, deal collateral import, and pooling processes within Moody’s Analytics products.
- Design trust and deal structures, including payment waterfall rules for various trust types (master trusts, owner trusts, grantor trusts).
- Develop tailored approaches for collateral servicing, pooling, investor reporting, and securitization accounting.
- Facilitate the use of technology-based tools and methodologies to review, design, and implement securitization products and services.
- Deliver regular updates to management and clients on project status, milestones, and outcomes.
- Communicate proactively with management regarding project assignments and resource utilization.
- Collaborate with Product Management to enhance Moody’s Analytics offerings.
- Advise clients on optimizing their securitization processes to meet contractual, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
- Document business requirements and translate financial concepts into analytical models.
- Create process maps and standard operating procedures to describe and improve client workflows.
About The Team
The Professional Services team provides implementation of Moody’s Analytics’ issuer tools and solutions. This may include customization of the solutions, development of bespoke solutions, on‑site installation, configuration and training services. The team contributes to Moody’s by providing a product to the structured finance industry that fulfills the specialized requirements of securitization program administrators and issuers of asset‑backed securities. The role offers exposure to a wide range of asset classes and structured finance transaction structures, and the opportunity to work with cutting‑edge data and analytics technology.
