Job summary

Merkle India is seeking a Senior Lead Developer/Engineer to drive backend development and collaboration with client teams in Mumbai. You will design, implement, and optimize Node.js services and work across the full stack with Vue.js frontend elements.

The role requires strong backend fundamentals, API security focus, and experience with CI/CD, Git, and cloud-aware architectures in an Agile environment. 2pm-11pm IST shift in Mumbai facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 8–12 years of backend software development experience.
• Strong emphasis on backend engineering.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and databases.
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Front-end basics: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Vue.js.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and debug Node.js backend applications.
• Model data with SQL/NoSQL databases and optimize queries.
• Ensure RESTful APIs, authentication, and security best practices.
• Maintain and enhance existing backend services in production.
• Build and maintain UI components to support backend functionality.
• Collaborate in Agile/Scrum teams using Jira.
• Mentor junior developers and document work.
• Ensure responsive UI across devices using Vue.js.

Must Have Skills

Technical:

• Proficiency in backend technologies (e.g., Node.js, Perl).
• Strong experience with RESTful API development and integration.

• Understanding of system architecture and design principles.
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
