Job summary

ScienceLogic is seeking an experienced Automation QA Engineer in Hyderabad to help advance our AI-powered IT operations platform. You will design, implement, and maintain automated test suites for cloud and on-prem environments, contributing to faster release cycles and higher quality.

The role requires Python/JavaScript proficiency, CI/CD with Jenkins, and familiarity with AWS, VMware, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Use testing tools to assist automation testing and reduce test cycles.

• Create and maintain test data for automation tests.
• Analyze daily CI test automation runs.
• Conduct manual and automated testing to verify software and hardware functionality.
• Incorporate and run test automation scripts within CI.
• Participate in code reviews of automated scripts and tests.
• Investigate new tools/frameworks to improve automation testing.

• Use testing tools and frameworks to assist with and streamline automation testing and reduce test cycles.
• Identify, document, and track defects, collaborating with development teams to resolve issues efficiently.
• Creating and maintaining integration testing environments on-premises and in AWS.
• Creating and maintaining test data needed to execute automation tests.
• Daily CI test automation runs results analysis.
• Conduct manual and automated testing to verify software and hardware functionality.
• Incorporating and running test automation scripts within the CI process.
• Participate in code reviews of automated scripts and tests.
• Investigating new tools and processes, and frameworks to enable efficient, effective automation testing.

Qualities you possess

• Familiarity with Python.
• Experience with creating, maintaining and execution test automation scripts written in Python and/or JavaScript with an optional BDD layer like Cucumber/Gherkin.
• Working knowledge and usage of continuous integration and auto build/deploy/test tools such as Jenkins.
• Familiarity with VMware and AWS environments.
• Must be a self-starter who is highly organized, hands-on, and a team player
• Natural team-player who can work seamlessly with engineers across the organization.
• Attention to detail.
• Passion and curiosity.
• Scale and Performance testing experience is a plus
• Security testing experience is a plus

Must have:

• Ability to create individual test cases and test plans.
• Ability to at least read Python code.
• Experience with Linux.
• Good communication skills.
• Self-starter, must be able to learn quickly.

Good to have:

• 3 years operating on an Agile Engineering Team with a solid understanding of SDLC.
• Experience with AI assisted testing frameworks/tools (e.g,Tabnine, Codex, Cursor etc.,)
• Cucumber experience.
• Use of Jenkins Pipelines.
• Experience with Jira. Xray experience is a huge plus for test case management.
• Experience with VMWare VM management.
• AWS EC2 instance management.
• Experience with Behave Driven Development (BDD). Especially with use of Gherkin syntax.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
