Job summary

Amgen Inc in Hyderabad, India is seeking an Associate Full Stack Software Engineer to contribute to design, development, testing, and deployment of scalable applications across front-end and back-end stacks.

You will work with React, TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, and cloud services, collaborating with product, design, data, QA, and other teams to deliver reliable, maintainable software while growing your full-stack and cloud engineering skills.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in full-stack software development.
• Demonstrated capability in UI development using JavaScript or TypeScript, React, HTML5, CSS, NPM, and responsive web-design principles.
• Knowledge of UI development practices, including component-based design, cross-browser compatibility, accessibility, and usability.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance front-end and back-end application components using established engineering standards and guidance from senior team members.
• Develop responsive, accessible, and user-friendly web interfaces using React, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS.
• Translate user stories, wireframes, and design specifications into high-quality, reusable UI components.
• Build reusable front-end components and integrate them with backend APIs, databases, and data services.
• Ensure UI solutions are consistent across supported browsers, devices, and screen sizes.
• Build and consume REST APIs, integrate data sources, and support data-processing pipelines.
• Create rapid prototypes to validate technical approaches and translate approved concepts into production-ready code.
• Write clean, reusable, well-documented, secure, and testable code.
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality, performance, accessibility, and maintainability.
• Contribute to unit, integration, UI, and automated testing activities.
• Support debugging, root-cause analysis, and resolution of application defects and production issues.
• Assist with application deployment, configuration, and operational support across cloud environments.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including design notes, API documentation, deployment procedures, and runbooks.
• Work closely with product owners, business stakeholders, UX/design teams, data engineers, QA engineers, and other technology teams.
• Follow Agile practices, contribute to sprint planning and effort estimation, and provide timely status updates.
• Continuously build knowledge of modern full-stack, cloud, AI, and DevOps technologies.

What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or another STEM field, with 25 years of relevant software development experience; a Masters degree is a plus.
• Hands-on experience through professional work, internships, academic projects, or personal projects in full-stack software development.
• Demonstrated capability in UI development using JavaScript or TypeScript, React, HTML5, CSS, NPM, and responsive web-design principles.
• Knowledge of user-interface development practices, including component-based design, cross-browser compatibility, accessibility, and usability.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs, API integration, and basic data-pipeline concepts.

• Experience with UI testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or cloud-native monitoring services.
• Experience or interest in developing data, analytics, AI, or generative-AI-enabled applications.
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture principles, authentication and authorization concepts, and API security.
• AWS Certified Developer, AWS Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, or equivalent cloud certification.
• SAFe Agile certification or familiarity with Agile frameworks.

Education and Professional Certifications

• Masters degree in OR Bachelors degree in computer science or STEM majors with a minimum of 2 to 5 years of Information Systems experience.
• AWS Developer certification (preferred)
• Any SAFe Agile certification (preferred)
