Job summary

TriNet is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and release applications and integrations that support the company's technology solutions. The role involves contributing across the SDLC, adhering to coding standards, and building prototypes to validate new ideas.

Typically under 2 years of experience with UI or backend technologies is expected; strong knowledge in Java/Python and modern UI frameworks is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field is required.
• Typically less than 2 years of experience in developing products and platforms using either UI or backend web technologies.
• Experience developing software using Java, Python, or other object-oriented programming languages.
• Experience with modern UI frameworks such as AngularJS or ReactJS.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, data structures, and testing methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), Generative AI technologies, AI agent development.
• Strong understanding of coding best practices, UI and back-end architectures.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with geographically distributed teams.
• Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and urgency.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the design and development of new products/solutions, as well as enhancements, updates, and issue resolution for existing systems.
• Contribute across the software development lifecycle (SDLC), with a focus on development, testing, troubleshooting, and debugging.
• Follow established coding standards and best practices, contributing through hands-on coding.
• Develop unit tests and automated test scripts in support of a test-driven development (TDD) approach.
• Leverage coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) for code generation, review, and test creation (good to have).
• Build rapid prototypes and proof of concepts (POCs) to validate new ideas and solutions.
• Should be comfortable working independently or collaborating with others.

The Associate Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and releasing applications, platform capabilities, and integrations that support the organization's technology solutions.
