Job summary

MVN Tech is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join the Engineering & Product Development team. This entry-level role welcomes fresh graduates with 0-2 years of experience to contribute to client projects and internal products across the full software development lifecycle.

You will write backend code in Java or Python, design secure REST APIs, and work with relational databases like MySQL/PostgreSQL/Oracle.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Write clean, efficient, maintainable and production-ready code using Java or Python for backend applications and modern web technologies for front-end integration.
• Design, build, test and maintain secure RESTful APIs with authentication, authorization, validation and error handling.
• Implement API security practices including token-based authentication, JWT, OAuth2, input sanitization, HTTPS and rate-limiting.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries and database schemas for MySQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle.
• Work with backend frameworks such as Spring Boot (Java) or Django/FastAPI/Flask (Python).
• Support containerization and deployment workflows using Docker; exposure to Kubernetes, Jenkins and AWS.
• Use Git and GitHub/GitLab workflows for source-code management, PRs and reviews.
• Write unit and integration tests; investigate defects and deliver reliable fixes.
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve quality, security and performance.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and deliver sprint outputs.
• Prepare and maintain technical docs covering implementation details, APIs and workflows.

This is an entry-level opportunity for fresh graduates and early-career engineers with 0-2 years of experience who are passionate about software engineering and eager to build reliable, scalable, and user-centric digital solutions. You will contribute directly to client projects and internal products across the full software development lifecycle, working closely with experienced engineers and receiving structured technical guidance and mentorship.

Responsibilities

Write clean, efficient, maintainable and production-ready code using Java or Python for backend applications and modern web technologies for front-end integration.

Design, build, test and maintain secure RESTful APIs with appropriate authentication, authorization, validation and error-handling mechanisms.

Implement API security practices including token-based authentication, JWT, OAuth2 concepts, input sanitization, HTTPS and basic API rate-limiting principles.

Develop and optimize SQL queries, database schemas and data operations using relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle.

Work with backend frameworks such as Spring Boot for Java or Django, FastAPI or Flask for Python based on project requirements.

Support application containerization and deployment workflows using Docker and gain practical exposure to Kubernetes, Jenkins and AWS services under the guidance of senior engineers.

Use Git and GitHub/GitLab branching workflows for source-code management, collaboration, pull requests and code reviews.

Write unit and integration tests, investigate defects, debug application issues and deliver reliable fixes.

Participate in code reviews and incorporate engineering feedback to improve code quality, security, maintainability and performance.

Collaborate with product, engineering and other stakeholders during Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint deliverables.

Prepare and maintain clear technical documentation covering implementation details, APIs, development workflows and operational procedures.

Continuously learn and adapt to modern technologies, engineering practices and project requirements.

Required Skills

Hands-on programming experience in either Java or Python.

Practical experience or strong understanding of Spring Boot for Java OR Django, FastAPI or Flask for Python.

Solid knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle.

Ability to write SQL queries and understand database schema design, relationships and data integrity.

Strong understanding of REST API development and API security concepts.

Knowledge of JWT, OAuth2, HTTPS, input validation/sanitization and basic API rate-limiting concepts is essential.

Proficiency with Git including commits, branching, merging, pull requests and collaborative workflows.

Hands-on familiarity with GitHub or GitLab is mandatory.

Basic conceptual knowledge or hands-on exposure to AWS services such as EC2, S3 and RDS.

Basic understanding or practical exposure to Docker and containerization.

Basic conceptual knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration is an advantage.

Basic understanding or exposure to Jenkins and CI/CD automation pipelines is an advantage.

Strong foundation in Object-Oriented Programming and Data Structures & Algorithms.

Strong analytical, debugging and problem-solving skills.

Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Ability to accept code review feedback, learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
