Job summary

Greater Giving, Inc. in Pune, India, is seeking an SRE Engineer with 2–4 years of testing and SRE experience to join our DevOps driven team.

The role requires knowledge of SRE and ITIL, testing automation, and cloud exposure, plus willingness to work shifts and on-call during weekends. You will contribute to automation, help advance DevOps across the enterprise, and collaborate with development, operations, and QA to evaluate manual support and recommend tooling and automation improvements.

Qualifications

Job description

• As a SRE Engineer, should have knowledge of SRE and ITIL Processes
• 2 to 4 years of testing and SRE experience
• Have worked on Testing Automation and ITIL Processes along with some Cloud Experience
• Must be ready and available to work in shifts and Oncall during weekends
• Contribute in Automation
• Work towards advancing the DevOps discipline across the enterprise
• Work with the team on manual support evaluation and provide recommendations on DevOps tooling and automation, wherever possible
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot system problems

Other Duties:

• Practical experience of Test Automation and ITIL Process
• Troubleshoot and resolve test cases and job failures within SLA
• Should have experience of application and infrastructure support on cloud
• Basic Knowledge of Server Patching cycle
• Performs quality checks & updating automation scripts. Identifies and designs basic testing suites for test driven development (TDD) and behavior driven development (BDD)
• Develops standard software tools, frameworks and utilities for validation / verification activities and end-to-end functional testing of software. Identifies and recommends tools and frameworks for testing and creates automated tools for generic use and maintainability
• Works with stakeholders, business, developers and other analysts to develop test plans, conditions and cases (set of inputs, execution preconditions, and expected outcomes developed for a particular objective, such as to exercise a particular program path or to verify compliance with a specific requirement) to be used in testing, and learns to perform test data conditioning and execution of test sets

Required Skill set:

• Bachelor's Degree required in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent certifications
• Experience with any scripting language (PowerShell, Bash, Perl, Python, Ruby)
• Strong knowledge of Selenium, MS Test, API testing tools and competence, Integration testing tools
• Hands On experience with any cloud platform
• Understanding of Microsoft and Red Hat Linux server technologies
• Ability to bridge the gap between Development and Production Support team

Preferred Qualification:

• Working experience and understanding of SRE practices and how to align that with a DevOps approach to CI/CD.
• Windows Servers Monitoring and Automation experience
• Good to have knowledge of Jenkins, Ansible
• Knowledge of post deployment validation checks
• GCP - Monitoring and Cost Optimization

Good to have hands-on experience in below tools:

• Servicenow
• Automation Test Tools like, Selenium, Playwright, UIPath
• Monitoring Tools like Logic Monitor, Thousand Eyes, Splunk
• Cloud Platform, preferable GCP
