Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. seeks a procurement-focused professional to support purchasing analytics, supplier selection, and pricing inputs. You will collaborate with master planners to manage outsourcing and blanket POs, including VMI setups, while contributing to strategic procurement initiatives.

The role involves data maintenance, analysis of orders and invoices, and ensuring alignment with procurement policies. Onsite work five days a week in Chennai, relocation considered where applicable.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of business process design; ability to develop appropriate techniques to re-examine key processes and focus on optimizing organizational performance.
• Knowledge of a Specific Procurement System: knowledge of the features, functions and operations of a procurement system.
• Logistics Management: knowledge of processes for movement of goods and materials; ability to predict and control logistics.

Responsibilities

• Delivering analysis and maintenance of purchasing and quality data including but not limited to; purchase orders, quotations, invoices, source catalogs, material rejection disposal reports, tooling records, supplier data and measurements.
• Working with master planners on outsourcing needs; establishing blanket purchase orders and vendor managed inventory (VMI).
• Supporting customers and customer proposal efforts with pricing information and supplier selection.
• Performing analytical and administrative tasks in support of purchasing strategic initiatives.
