Job summary

WSP India is seeking a senior design professional to lead project design work within our engineering consultancy. The role focuses on production and coordination with the WSP India AU Team while mentoring junior team members to build capability.

As a senior member, you will guide feasibility studies, define building requirements, oversee detailed design, ensure CDM and QA sign-offs, and support cost estimation and tender documentation with clear design decisions.

Qualifications

• Background verification must be cleared via a third-party agency appointed by WSP India.
• Ensure all information provided during recruitment — including documents uploaded — is accurate and complete.

Responsibilities

• Prepare feasibility study reports to meet brief requirements in the agreed format and review with the Local CRC Head of MEP.
• Agree and monitor scope of works with the Local CRC Head of MEP.
• Clearly define building requirements and purpose of use with the Local CRC Head of MEP and WSP in India AU Team to allow detailed design.
• Carry out detailed design to WSP in India AU Building Regulations and relevant Code of Practice and standards ensuring CDM, QA and technical review and sign off by the Local CRC Head of MEP, including complex calculations and coordination issues.
• Review and monitor the production of calculations including QA, technical reviews and sign off.
• Ensure that information for project costing preparation is completed in requisite detail and to deadlines, and keep the WSP in India AU Team informed regarding design progress through explanation of design decisions.
• Provide documentary information via the WSP in India Team to assist in the preparation of tender documents, ensuring that information for tender preparation is completed in requisite detail and to deadlines, and keep the WSP in India AU Team informed regarding design progress through explanation of design decisions.
• Coordinate project contracts documents (drawings and specifications) and reviews input from team members.
• Deal with day-to-day queries from the WSP in India Team, ensuring relevant information is available on time for construction activity.
• Report to the WSP in India Team in association with the Local CRC Head of MEP any variance between the works constructed and the design intent.
• Project manage commissions from the WSP in India Team, using applicable project management tools.
• Lead the design process and encourage the rest of the team to deliver appropriate and cost effective solutions to the agreed programme.
• Follow in full the document control, archiving CDM and QA processes relevant to project work, ensuring drawings, specifications, reports and correspondence are issued, and filed in an appropriate manner, coach junior staff in their usage.

Qualifications

BGV:

• Employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification ('BGV') check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India.
