Position Summary

The Associate Professor – Organisational Behaviour & Human Resource Management (OB/HR) at UNSW Bengaluru is a senior academic role responsible for providing leadership in teaching, research, curriculum development, and academic service within the School of Business. The role contributes to the academic development of the campus by delivering high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, leading curriculum innovation, mentoring academic staff, and advancing impactful research aligned with UNSW's global academic standards and the University Grants Commission (UGC) regulatory framework. The Associate Professor is expected to maintain a strong research profile in Human Resource Management (HRM), Organisational Behaviour (OB), Leadership, and related Management disciplines while contributing to academic governance, interdisciplinary collaboration, industry engagement, and the University's strategic priorities. The appointee will play a key role in promoting excellence in teaching, research, student success, and academic quality while fostering a high-performing and inclusive academic culture at UNSW Bengaluru.

Preference will be given to global/international faculty with teaching experience outside of India.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Human Resource Management, Organisational Behaviour, Leadership, and related Management disciplines.
  • Provide academic leadership in curriculum design, development, delivery, and continuous review across Business programs.
  • Lead curriculum innovation and ensure teaching quality aligns with UNSW academic standards and UGC regulatory requirements.
  • Design and continuously improve curriculum, assessment strategies, learning resources, and student learning experiences using contemporary pedagogical approaches.
  • Coordinate course delivery across teaching teams, ensuring consistency in curriculum implementation, assessment standards, moderation, and student learning outcomes.
  • Teach quantitative and qualitative research methods, business analytics, and applied research methodologies.
  • Supervise undergraduate capstone projects, Honours projects, postgraduate research students, and applied research activities where appropriate.
  • Mentor junior academic staff through peer review, curriculum development, teaching enhancement, and research guidance.
  • Maintain a strong research profile through publications in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, conference presentations, and scholarly engagement.
  • Develop interdisciplinary research collaborations across UNSW campuses and with national and international academic institutions.
  • Lead collaborative research initiatives and contribute to securing competitive research funding from government, industry, and international funding agencies.
  • Build strong partnerships with industry, government agencies, professional associations, and external organisations to strengthen teaching, consultancy, internships, executive education, and research.
  • Integrate emerging organisational trends, including Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Digital Transformation, Sustainability, and the Future of Work, into teaching and research activities.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, academic governance, accreditation, quality assurance, and University committees.
  • Collaborate with UNSW Sydney faculty to ensure curriculum equivalence, academic quality, and research alignment.
  • Represent UNSW Bengaluru in academic, professional, industry, and international forums through conferences, seminars, executive education, and outreach initiatives.
  • Promote an inclusive academic culture by supporting equity, diversity, inclusion, student wellbeing, and student success initiatives.
  • Uphold academic integrity and ensure compliance with UNSW policies, UGC regulations, accreditation requirements, and ethical research practices.
  • Ensure safe, ethical, and compliant academic practices across teaching, research, supervision, and professional engagement.
Qualifications & Selection Criteria
  • Ph.D. in Human Resource Management, Organisational Behaviour, Management, Leadership, or a closely related discipline from a globally recognised university.
  • Demonstrated record of academic excellence with significant achievements in teaching, research, and scholarly activities.
  • Extensive experience teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Human Resource Management, Organisational Behaviour, Leadership, and related Management disciplines.
  • Strong research profile with publications in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and evidence of national and international recognition.
  • Demonstrated expertise in curriculum design, program development, assessment design, and continuous curriculum improvement.
  • Experience implementing innovative pedagogical approaches, educational technologies, blended learning, and online teaching methods.
  • Demonstrated success in supervising undergraduate, Honours, Master's, and doctoral students.
  • Proven ability to teach quantitative and qualitative research methods and supervise applied research projects.
  • Evidence of securing or contributing to competitive research funding and collaborative research projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership in curriculum innovation, academic governance, quality assurance, and accreditation activities.
  • Strong industry engagement with experience in work-integrated learning, executive education, consultancy, or professional practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with industry, government agencies, professional associations, and international academic partners.
