Designation:

Job Purpose

To design test cases for UAT on the basis of test scenarios and test enhancements performed in the system, report defects identified during testing to the immediate superior, and manage rectification and simulation of production issues. In case of a production bug, update the PRD system.

Job Context

The role involves preparing and executing UAT test cases, maintaining defect records, designing SQL queries for data analysis, retesting after bug fixes, and demonstrating new processes to users.

Job Challenges

• Meet testing targets despite limited availability and inadequate response from the test region.
• Prevent duplication of test effort caused by incomplete transfer of code to the test region by IT.
• Ensure availability of all necessary product policies on the test region to avoid delays in testing.
• Provide correct data on the test region to simulate production issues.
• Clarify user expectations regarding reported production issues and associated processes.

Key Result Areas

KRA1 Preparation and Execution of test cases

1. Understand the business requirement thoroughly.
2. Prepare test cases considering all possible scenarios by referring to existing test packs.
3. Execute the test cases as per the plan and keep a record of all test results.
4. Share the test results with the users for their review.
5. Record defects in a defect tracker and share them with the immediate superior and IT for resolution.
6. Design SQL queries and analyze data required during testing.
7. Retest test cases after bug fixes.
8. Demonstrate new processes to users on the test region.
9. Analyze data after production movements in the initial days.

KRA2 Rectification of production issues reported by users

1. Analyze and rectify production issues reported by users.
2. Track production issues in the tracking system wherever IT intervention is required.
3. Rectify production issues within set timelines.
4. Analyze processes followed during activity processing and simulate activity on the test region.
5. Demonstrate processes on the test region to users to avoid future process errors.
6. Design SQL queries for users on a request basis.

KRA3 Maintenance of Desk Instruction Manual (DIM) and Ready Reckoner

1. Update and upload the DIM on the basis of user requests.
2. Update and upload the Ready Reckoner on basis of user requests.
