Job summary

Springer Nature's Research Cross-Journal Editorial Team in Pune/New Delhi/Milan (hybrid) seeks an Associate or Senior Editor with a PhD in Earth/climate science to advance Nature Portfolio journals. You will manage manuscript assessment, peer review, and commission/edit content across Nature Climate Change, Geoscience, Sustainability, and related journals.

The role values curiosity beyond a specialty, strong communication, and ability to work with Chief Editors and journal teams.

Qualifications

• PhD level (or equivalent) in Earth and/or climate science.
• Expertise in biogeochemistry, land surface interactions and feedbacks, agriculture, and forestry welcome.
• Postdoctoral experience not required but would be a plus.
• Editorial experience desirable but not essential.
• Ability to absorb new areas of research and think beyond the specialty.

Responsibilities

• Supporting editorial processes relating to manuscript assessment and the peer-review process.
• Commissioning, editing and writing content for journals.
• Working closely with Chief Editors and journal teams, reporting to the Head of the Research Cross-Journal Team.
