Job summary

WSP India seeks an experienced engineering leader to coordinate GCC ERI (E&P) teams on large EPCM projects across India. You will drive technical coordination, mentor senior mechanical and project engineers, and ensure budget and schedule adherence.

The role requires 20+ years in EPCM, strong project controls, and the ability to coach and develop the team while aligning with WSP policies and safety standards. Hybrid work model in multiple cities.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or technical diploma is required.
  • Registered with appropriate authorities in Western Canada is listed in the doc but may be non-applicable locally; experience in EPCM is valued.
  • 20+ years of EPCM experience are preferred; 5+ years in management within engineering consulting.
  • Strong MS Office skills and ability to use vendor/database software.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate GCC ERI (E&P) project efforts and mentor GCC engineers.
  • Manage engineering scope within budget and schedule provided by WSP Canada.
  • Review drawings, interpret design codes, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Support project controls: scope, cost, schedule, and risk management.
  • Champion design changes and support procurement from RFP to PO closeout.
  • Coach less experienced staff and conduct performance reviews.

Job description

Responsible for coordinating the efforts on projects of WSP India GCC teams, the personal and professional development of the GCC mechanical and project engineers, and for small to large sized projects being executed by the GCC ERI (E&P) team.

Responsibilities
  • Make recommendations and be involved with important decision making on highly technical and complex aspects of WSP projects. Able to put together rough concepts for execution by others.
  • Ensure compliance of PEP from the team with established Energy & Process procedures
  • Accountable for managing the engineering project scope within allocated budget and schedule provided by WSP Canada
  • Complete feasibility studies and technical report writing.
  • Support project controls on an on-going basis i.e. scope control, cost control, schedule control, and risk control
  • Responsible for reviewing and stamping drawings (as required); using experience in interpreting design codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively manage deadlines and ensure appropriate communication is provided (to relevant parties) when schedule and cost conflicts arise.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Energy & Process team on identifying priorities for the ICRC Mechanical/Project engineering team
  • Ensure adherence to company engineering policies, procedures, and systems for the engineering group.
  • Expected to work with all levels of the organization in a cohesive manner.
  • Champion and support the project change management process in the areas of design change notices
  • Support scope change requests from the Energy & Process team
  • Support the mechanical team in procurement of mechanical equipment packages from RFP to PO closeout
  • Able to communicate, understand, express, and apply basic technical, business or administrative concepts.
  • Superior organizational and time-management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
  • Maintains key project KPIs such as CPI and SPI, and utilization of earned value reporting
  • Decision and problem-solving ability.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and efficiently respond to changing priorities.
  • Able to coach, knowledge share and support less experienced staff.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback and champion the development of the team

Qualifications
  • Engineering degree in a related discipline or technical diploma from post-secondary institution.
  • Registered with appropriate authorities in Western Canada (APEGA, ASET, APEGBC)
  • 20+ years of previous experience in an EPCM environment in the domestic and international oil and gas industry is an asset.
  • 5+ years prior management experience in an engineering consulting environment.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office including training with vendor and database software.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently.
  • Vast experience and exposure with field operations.
