Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Strong foundation in security strategy, risk management, and crisis management.
  • 12-16 years of security management experience with 5+ years in leadership within industrial/manufacturing settings.
  • Proven track record in developing security protocols, risk assessments, and vendor management.

Job description

Purpose/Objective
  • Plant Security Head is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all personnel, assets, and operations within the plant environment.
  • This role entails the development and implementation of comprehensive security strategies that safeguard company resources while promoting a culture of safety and compliance.
  • The Plant Security Head oversees all security operations, including risk assessment, incident response, and the maintenance of safety protocols, ensuring that all security measures align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities of Role
  • Asset Protection and Loss Reduction: Ensure the implementation of effective security measures to protect assets and minimize losses across plant operations.
  • Foster a culture of safety and security by conducting regular audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities and address them promptly.
  • Collaborate with the Head Office team to build security capabilities and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Safeguard company assets through strict monitoring of unsafe acts and conditions, implementing proactive measures to avert and reduce incidents.
  • Strengthening Security Setup: Oversee the establishment and maintenance of robust security protocols and systems at the plant.
  • Implement and monitor adherence to approved budgets for manpower deployment, ensuring resource optimization.
  • Ensure no additional security manpower deployment at existing O&M sites after completion of physical security measures.
  • Develop security parameters and implement them at the site in consultation with Cluster Security Head.
  • Crisis Management and Safety Initiatives: Develop and maintain a comprehensive crisis management plan, ensuring readiness for potential security incidents.
  • Ensure 100% Security compliance at the main gate of all sites, conducting regular training sessions and mock drills to prepare personnel for emergency situations.
  • Ensure no accidents or incidents occur at the site while adhering to Security requirements.
  • Financial Performance Management: Strive for a 5% reduction in security operational expenditure through effective resource management and proactive risk mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor vendor performance, ensuring timely submission of invoices and payments while adhering to approved budgets.
  • Ensure retention of key talent among operational management personnel (OMPs) while providing additional responsibilities.
  • Training and Capability Building: Ensure all OMPs receive an average of three days of training annually to enhance their security awareness and response capabilities.
  • (Training Calender of OMPs share to VSH Office) Conduct security awareness sessions & Briefings to improve the effectiveness of newly joined OMPs and monitor their efficiency.
  • Implement a minimum of one technology initiative at the sites (Budgetory support from Business) to enhance security measures.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Maintain oversight of security operations, ensuring 100% compliance with established Security and operational protocols.
  • Prepare and present performance reports to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • Regularly liaise with police and civil authorities for smooth functioning of Site and ensure compliance with audit points.
  • I&V Development: Drive a performance driven culture by implementing effective I&V mechanism for reduction of theft cases.
  • Strategic Planning and Implementation: Create a long‑term strategy for security, focusing on technology initiatives, analytics, and business processes.
  • Ensure continuous optimization drives at sites to balance operational efficiency and loss reduction, targeting a 5% optimization of OPEX in FY.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely completion of automation projects and the development of basic security infrastructure at sites.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), or Certified Fraud Examiners (CFE) are advantageous.
  • Strong academic foundation in security strategy, risk management, and crisis management.
  • Work Experience: 12-16 years of experience in security management, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within industrial or manufacturing organizations.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing security protocols, conducting risk assessments, and managing security operations.
  • Experience in managing budgets, cost optimization, and vendor management in security operations.
