About the Role
MetalegalAdvocates is seeking an experienced, analytically driven, and professionallyaccomplished Chartered Accountant to join its Forensic &Investigations Practice .
This role isdesigned for professionals with experience in financial investigations,forensic accounting, forensic audit, regulatory reviews, dispute support,financial due diligence, and white-collar matters. The successful candidatewill work on complex matters involving financial irregularities, fraud reviews,regulatory proceedings, litigation support, transaction analysis, fund flowreviews, and investigation assignments across diverse industries.
The role offerssignificant exposure to high-value investigations handled by the Firm involvingfinancial misconduct, corporate disputes, regulatory enforcement, and economicoffences, while working closely with senior professionals and multidisciplinarylegal teams.
Scope of Work
The Associateshall be involved in assignments relating to, inter alia:
- Financial investigations and forensicaccounting reviews.
- Forensic audit and fraud riskassessments.
- Regulatory investigations andenforcement support.
- White-collar crime and economicoffence matters.
- Financial due diligence andcompliance reviews.
- Fund flow analysis and transactiontracing.
- Asset tracing and financialreconstruction.
- Dispute support, litigation support,and expert financial analysis.
- Investigation documentation andevidence management.
- Financial analysis relating toproceedings before regulatory and judicial authorities.
KeyResponsibilities
The Associateshall, inter alia:
- Independently analyse financialstatements, general ledgers, bank statements, accounting records, books ofaccount, vouchers, supporting documentation, and complex financialtransactions.
- Conduct forensic accounting reviews,financial investigations, transaction testing, fund flow analysis, assettracing, reconciliation exercises, and financial data analysis.
- Identify unusual financial patterns,suspicious transactions, accounting irregularities, control deficiencies,and indicators of financial misconduct or fraud.
- Prepare structured working papers,investigation documentation, analytical memoranda, financial schedules,evidence matrices, and investigation reports.
- Assist in matters involvingregulatory authorities, investment agencies, dispute resolution,arbitration, and litigation support.
- Review documentary evidence,financial records, statutory filings, accounting data, and regulatorydisclosures.
- Support investigations involvingalleged fraud, diversion of funds, misappropriation, financialirregularities, accounting manipulation, related-party transactions, andother financial misconduct.
- Coordinate with clients, financialinstitutions, statutory auditors, forensic specialists, legal teams, andother stakeholders for collection and analysis of information.
- Conduct research on accountingstandards, financial reporting requirements, regulatory frameworks,forensic methodologies, and investigation practices.
- Maintain high standards ofprofessional judgement, confidentiality, documentation quality, andanalytical accuracy throughout all assignments.
Requirements
EssentialQualifications
Applicants mustsatisfy all of the following requirements:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant(Mandatory).
- Strong and consistent academic recordthroughout school, graduation, and professional education.
- 3–5 years of relevantpost-qualification experience in forensic accounting, financialinvestigations, forensic audit, regulatory investigations, financial duediligence, dispute support, risk advisory, or other similar assignmentsinvolving financial investigations, regulatory reviews, or forensicanalysis.
PreferredExperience
Preference willbe given to candidates having experience in one or more of the following:
- White-collar crime investigations.
