Job summary

AlphaSense is seeking an Associate Financial Analyst to advance data annotations for AI model training and to evaluate model outputs. You will work with finance and AI teams to interpret earnings, filings, and research, ensuring high-quality data for GenAI features.

This role focuses on high-quality financial document analysis, collaboration across product teams, and delivering actionable insights to improve AI-driven market intelligence.

Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant certification or CFA levels completed.
• Shows strong understanding of financial concepts and data.
• 1–2 years of relevant financial analysis experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to collaborate across functions and communicate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Exceptional analytical and critical thinking, synthesising complex information into insights.
• Strong project management skills including prioritisation and time management.
• Proficiency with workplace tools like MS Office and GSuite.

Responsibilities

• Analyse financial documents: earnings calls, SEC filings, broker reports, transcripts, and news.
• Rank and evaluate language model outputs for quality and accuracy.
• Analyse customer usage patterns to identify product enhancement opportunities.
• Ensure quality and consistency of data collection for model evaluation/training.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and AI researchers to define annotation guidelines.
• Apply hands-on knowledge of financial reports and documents.
• Synthesize information from diverse sources into actionable insights.
• Maintain awareness of data annotation, AI ethics, and emerging tech trends.

The Role

AlphaSense is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Associate Financial Analyst to play a key role in advancing the annotations and analysis of data for AI model training and in the evaluation of AI‑based model outputs. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of software experts, AI researchers, and product managers focused on developing next‑generation Generative AI (GenAI) features for market intelligence. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with financial analysts from diverse backgrounds, including sell‑side research, management consulting, and data annotation, to provide essential insights that drive the company’s GenAI strategies and contribute to the development of cutting‑edge GenAI products. Note: This position requires a strong focus on the analysis of high‑quality research reports and is distinct from traditional accounting or routine financial reporting functions.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and interpret a variety of financial documents, including earnings calls, U.S. SEC and global filings, broker research reports, expert call transcripts, news, and regulatory content.
• Evaluate and rank language model outputs based on criteria such as comprehensiveness, factual accuracy, coverage, and fluency.
• Analyse customer usage patterns of the AlphaSense platform and data sources to identify opportunities for product enhancements and new AI model applications.
• Ensure the quality and consistency of data collection for AI model evaluation/training.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and AI Researchers to define data annotation guidelines and processes for various Generative AI projects.
• Apply hands‑on knowledge of a wide range of financial reports and documents.
• Demonstrate the ability to thoroughly review, comprehend, and synthesise information from diverse sources to extract key details and formulate actionable insights.
• Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends related to data annotation, AI ethics, and emerging technologies relevant to our AI offerings.

Requirements

• Chartered Accountant (CA) certification or completion of all three levels of the CFA program.
• Demonstrates exceptional understanding of financial concepts and data.
• 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in financial analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a cross‑functional environment and communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to synthesise complex information into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
• Strong project management skills, including problem‑solving, time management, prioritisation, adaptability, research proficiency, and a commitment to quality management.
• Proficiency in workplace productivity tools, such as GSuite and MS Office.
