Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 18+ years of applicable work experience in SW product development and global teams.
• 8+ years of people-management experience with multiple teams.
• Deep understanding of enterprise full-stack development and V&V in medical devices or regulated environments.
• Experience with budget planning and expense management; ability to influence without authority.
• Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to present risk and strategy to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-team software organization (40+ engineers) across web, mobile, desktop, and cloud for medical devices.
• Coach Engineering Managers and senior leads; build succession plans and leadership pipeline.
• Own end-to-end delivery: capacity planning, prioritization, risk escalation, executive reporting.
• Set technical direction and architectural standards with Principal Engineers; drive build/buy decisions.
• Partner with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Program Management; align on V&V and submission readiness.
• Define sustainable development processes; improve engineering practices, quality, and cycle time.
• Own hiring strategy, workforce planning, and budget inputs; manage vendor/partner engagements.
• Represent software to OU/site leadership; participate in design reviews and audits.
• Remove barriers, resolve cross-team conflicts, and foster a culture of engineering excellence and safety.
