Job summary

KONE in Chennai, India is seeking an engineering designer to create circuit diagrams for elevators, generate BOMs for production, and ensure safety and manufacturability in designs. The role requires coordination with a multidisciplinary team and timely delivery of tasks.

The candidate should have exposure to elevator systems, strong documentation skills, and proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office. The position emphasizes collaboration, flexibility between teams, and a customer-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• Experience in elevator systems or related mechanical/electrical design is a plus.
• Ability to interpret specifications and translate into design.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design circuit diagrams and schematics for elevator projects.
• Prepare and provide Bill of Materials to Production.
• Assess safety, maintainability and environmental considerations in designs.
• Update order progress to stakeholders regularly.
• Collaborate with engineering team and participate in meetings/workshops.
• Work independently to deliver on time and within specs.

Job description

Knowledge and understanding of KONE equipment offering, technical design, structure, and details and of the technical strengths and limitations of products.

Analyses contracts and specifications for equipment and selects the right products for the required solution.

Designs the circuit diagrams for an elevator with required non-standard requirements.

Provides Bill of materials to Production based on the diagrams.

Takes safety, maintenance and manufacturability aspects into account and designs environmentally sustainable solutions when possible.

Cost understanding of solutions and components

Updates order progress to other stakeholders on a timely basis.

As a member of an engineering team, shares his/her knowledge and skills with colleagues and participates actively in meetings and workshops.

Works independently on the assigned tasks and delivers the required results on time.

Applies a customer service mind set.

Teamworking and Good communication skills

Ready to work flexibly between teams

Elevator industry background added advantage

Software Skills:

AutoCAD knowledge will be an added advantage

Knowledge in Microsoft Office tools is an added advantage
