By 2031, we aim to deliver £40 billion in annual sales, leveraging our existing strong performance momentum to significantly increase our positive impact on the health of billions of patients globally. Our Ahead Together strategy is centred on early intervention to prevent and alter the course of disease, thereby protecting people and supporting healthcare systems. Our diverse portfolio consists of vaccines, specialty medicines, and general medicines. Through continuous innovation and a dedicated focus on scientific and technical excellence, we strive to develop and launch new, groundbreaking treatments that address critical health challenges.

Job Purpose

The Associate Director, Technology Risk & Compliance Business Partners - GSC & OT will lead a defined area of the Technology Risk & Compliance Business Partners - GSC & OT capability and the team or programme that delivers it. This is a leadership role accountable for a defined area of the capability, providing hands‑on risk and compliance consulting and assurance to the teams actively deploying and owning technology across Global Supply Chain, both IT and OT. This role covers Global Supply Chain and Operational Technology, including manufacturing and laboratory systems.

About the team

The Technology Risk and Compliance Business Partners are the face of the Cyber Security Office to GSK’s business and technology areas. Each partner owns the cyber risk and compliance relationship for an assigned area, translating central strategy into what that area actually needs to do, and bringing its risk back into the Cyber Security Office.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead a defined area of the capability, including its people, delivery and outcomes.
  • Manage delivery against the capability roadmap and escalation blockers early.
  • Develop team capability through coaching, review and structured feedback.
  • Represent the area in CSO governance and cross‑functional forums.
  • Provide hands‑on risk and compliance consulting and assurance to teams deploying and owning IT and OT technology across Global Supply Chain, representing both risk and compliance perspectives.
  • Own the cyber risk and compliance relationship for the assigned area, Global Supply Chain and Operational Technology, including manufacturing and laboratory systems.
  • Provide working‑level SOX and GxP compliance advice to Supply Chain IT and OT teams, and support internal and external audits and regulatory inspections for the assigned area.
  • Apply SDLC best practice and software quality principles to advise delivery teams on secure, compliant delivery.
  • Provide advice on control design and assess control adequacy for Supply Chain IT and OT systems.
  • Identify, analyse and influence the management of cyber security risk across the assigned area, communicating risk clearly to manager and director‑level audiences and balancing risk with operational and user‑experience considerations.
  • Hold operational areas, risk owners and suppliers to account against the Cyber Security Office strategy for the assigned area.
  • Build and maintain the cyber risk register for the area, including risk statements, ratings, owners and treatment plans.
  • Embed security requirements and controls at the start of initiatives rather than retrofitting them before go‑live, bringing in specialist consults on tooling and architecture design patterns from across the team as needed.
  • Facilitate risk assessments for new initiatives, systems and third parties in the assigned area.
  • Develop and maintain a broad understanding of Global Supply Chain business processes, operating environment and associated technology, including ERP and integrated ecosystems, Manufacturing Execution Systems, Warehouse Management Systems, SCADA and industrial control systems.
Basic Qualifications
  • Degree in a relevant discipline, or related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in cyber risk, technology risk or information security governance.
  • Working knowledge of risk assessment and risk register management.
  • Practical experience with senior business stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong background securing IT and OT environments in regulated industries.
  • Working familiarity with SOX and GxP compliance requirements.
  • Working knowledge of SDLC best practices and software quality principles.
  • Working knowledge of control frameworks, with the ability to advise on and assess control design.
  • Significant experience in cyber security within the relevant domain.
  • Proven experience leading a team or a substantial programme of work.
  • Experience managing delivery to plan, quality and timelines.
  • Excellent relationship management, influencing and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience acting as a business information security officer or embedded security partner.
  • Working knowledge of NIST CSF, ISO 27001 and ISO 22301.
  • Experience with GRC platforms such as ServiceNow.

  • Experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences or another highly regulated industry.
  • Understanding of Operational Technology (OT) security concepts, applied across manufacturing, distribution, quality laboratory and supply chain environments.
  • Familiarity with common IT and OT architecture design patterns and specialist tooling used in Supply Chain environments.
  • Broad understanding of, or readiness to develop understanding of, Global Supply Chain business processes, operating environment and associated technology.
  • Experience supporting audits and regulatory inspections.
