Job summary

MSD is seeking an Associate Director Software Engineering for EWM SAP solutions based in Hyderabad. You will lead global EWM enhancements, ensuring smooth integration with Production Execution, EH&S, and other SAP modules across NA, EU, APAC, and LA.

You will drive end-to-end project management, coordinate stakeholders, and guide teams through design, testing, and production transition in a fast-paced pharmaceutical tech environment.

Qualifications

• Functional and technical SAP expertise for SAP Production Execution (PP-PI preferred) with 5+ years.
• Significant EWM experience with Hana S4 EWM implementation.
• End-to-end Material Handling knowledge; SDLC in pharma industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead global EWM enhancements related to SAP solution across Production Execution and EH&S.
• Manage full project lifecycle from scope to delivery, including testing and documentation.

Role Overview

• As part of the EIT SCM Team, The EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) Software Engineering Associate Director plays a vital role in leading global EWM enhancements related to SAP solution within Material Handling and integration across the business including areas such as Production Execution and Environmental Health & Safety. This role supports our global network across (NA, EU, APAC, and LA) and involves full cycle project management from scope to delivery. (Gap/requirement analyses, solutioning, testing, documentation, preparation/transition support to production, and hyper care).

What Will You Do In This Role

• Be part of SCM (Supply Chain Management) international team of SAP Experts
• Be responsible and lead all EWM changes related to SAP solution including integration within other areas of the business (ex. Produciton Execution and Environmental Health & Safety).
• Responsible for full cycle project management from scope to delivery expected (Gap/requirement analyses, solutioning, testing, documentation, preparation/transition support to production, and hyper care)
• Be part of live markets operational support delivering EWM enhancements on current SAP solution within related functional areas.
• Be responsible for change management process collaborating with the appropriate technical team.
• Work with and Influence individuals across a global matrixed organization (NA, EU, APAC and LA) to realize key objectives.
• Test and troubleshoot interfaces to third-party applications (Ex. Automated Warehouses -MMES) in relation to respective SAP modules.
• Work on diverse projects like roll-out of our global solution to new markets
• Document, review and approve functional specifications, user requirements specifications and formal testing.
• Work in a matrix environment coordinating with outsourced support vendors.
• Coordinate and work closely with other teams within Enterprise IT, Manufacturing Division, and Research Labs.
• Manage stakeholder expectations, work with the Business to deliver on SAP enhancements & projects.
• Communicate risks, issues, challenges, and technical design status/progress. Ensure issues and risks are tracked and mitigation plans are in place.

What Should You Have

• Functional and technical (SAP) expertise for SAP Production Execution Module (Preferable PP-PI - Process industry) more than 5 Years
• Significant EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) experience with the ability to assist with its Global Hana S4 EWM implementation.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of end-to-end Material Handling processes
• Ex. MMES - Material Movement Automation Systems, & Shop floor system integrations.
• Good English communication skills and the ability to interact directly with business users and stakeholders.
• Team player
• Familiarity with SDLC in the pharmaceutical industry required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities leveraging latest technology.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
• High attention to detail and a proactive mindset to prevent issues before escalation.
