Job summary

BDx Data Centers seeks an experienced engineer to design, configure, program, install and troubleshoot HVAC controls and Electrical SCADA within our data centers. You will drive BMS projects, manage LOE, budgets, and coordinate multi-team efforts across vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years in designing, configuring, programming, installing, troubleshooting HVAC controls and electrical SCADA.
• Experience with BMS, SCADA software and networks.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, MQTT, BACnet and MODBUS.

• Develop BMS and power management project scope, LOE, schedule, and budget.
• Manage scope, schedule, finance and execution of BDx data center projects.
• Assist procurement: RFQs, vendor proposals, review of proposals and PO issuance.
• Support commissioning activities for controls projects in data centers.
• Conduct engineering analysis and design for data center equipment and facilities.
• Ensure designs meet cooling, structural and operational requirements.
• Develop remediation playbooks for control system designs with IT teams.

Role Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, configuring, programming, installing, and troubleshooting HVAC Controls and Electrical SCADA systems.

Key Responsibilities

Develop BMS and power management projects scope of work, schedule, budget, and level of efforts (LOE) to projects requested by customers and stakeholders.

Manage scope, schedule, finance and execution of BMS improvement projects in BDx data centers.

Assist in procurement related activities including request for quotation/proposals, responding to request for information, review of vendors proposal and issuance of purchase orders.

Support Controls projects related commissioning activities in the data centers.

Conduct engineering analysis and research designs and methods of data center equipment and facilities.

Ensure designs and installations meet requirements (e.g., predicted cooling, structural, operational concerns, etc.

Develop data center vulnerability remediation playbooks for control system designs in conjunction with IT teams.

Candidate Profile

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent practical experience.

Excellent understanding of industry-standard electrical and mechanical systems used in data centers, as well as controls/monitoring systems.

Experience of 10+ years in designing, configuring, programming, installing, troubleshooting or servicing HVAC Controls and Electrical SCADA systems application specific controllers, Building Management System (BMS) Controls software and networks.

Develop and modify controls logic programming and graphical user interfaces.

Manage multiple stakeholder deliverables, requirements and navigate challenging situations.

Project coordination experience with multiple teams or vendors to meet project requirements for data centers.

TCP/IP, MQTT, BACnet and/or MODBUS communication protocol experience.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
