Job summary

Exostar is seeking a software/DevOps engineer to develop and enhance full stack applications that automate delivery and internal tooling. You will build and refine CI/CD pipelines, write IaC scripts, and collaborate onsite to rapidly deliver working software in a fast-paced environment.

You will gain hands-on experience with Generative AI tools like GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT, contribute to design discussions, and participate in agile ceremonies.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in software development, DevOps, or related roles.
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI tools to assist coding.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and modern delivery pipelines.
• Exposure to cloud platforms via projects or coursework.
• Comfort with scripting in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• IaC principles; Terraform is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of containers and Linux environments.
• Strong problem solving and rapid learning ability.
• Willingness to work onsite in a collaborative setting.

Responsibilities

• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and agile ceremonies to drive team deliverables.
• Support monitoring and observability of automation solutions for performance and reliability.
• Document processes, tools, and learnings to improve team onboarding and productivity.
• Take ownership of tasks with a bias for action, even in unfamiliar areas.

Job description

Required Qualifications

You meet our “must haves” for this role if you have:

• 1–3 years of experience in software development, DevOps, or related technical roles , including internships or personal projects.
• Hands‑on experience using Generative AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Codex) to write, refactor, or troubleshoot code.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI, and a basic understanding of modern software delivery pipelines.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS or Google Cloud acceptable) through academic, project, or hands‑on experience.
• Comfort with scripting and automation in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Understanding Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles; experience with tools like Terraform is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of containers and development in Linux‑based environments.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a proven ability to learn new technologies independently as needed.
• Willingness to work onsite in a collaborative environment , engaging directly with peers to deliver working solutions quickly.
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or other related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building or contributing to internal tools, automation frameworks, or developer platforms .
• Familiarity with container orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes) and related concepts like Helm or service meshes.
• Exposure to monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and working in compliance‑driven environments (e.g., FedRAMP, ITAR, NIST).
• Demonstrated ability to prototype quickly and iterate using AI‑assisted coding workflows.
• Coursework or certification in cloud architecture, DevOps, or cybersecurity .
• Contributions to open‑source projects or strong personal coding portfolio showcasing full stack or DevOps‑related work.
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or other related field
