Job summary

JPMorganChase in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced Credit Risk Analyst to assist with credit analysis and monitor portfolio performance, identifying risk trends and shifts in key metrics.

You will support underwriting guidelines, risk frameworks, and data-driven reporting for credit leadership, collaborating with Risk, Underwriting, and Finance teams to improve decisioning processes and drive portfolio optimization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, data analytics, or related discipline.
  • 6+ years of experience in consumer credit, risk, analytics, or underwriting at a financial institution.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and draw conclusions.
  • Basic understanding of consumer credit products and risk drivers.
  • Proficiency in Excel and quantitative tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication to present findings.
  • Team-oriented with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Curiosity to learn about credit strategy and risk models.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare data-driven reports, presentations, and insights for credit leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Help evaluate credit exposures and recommend risk mitigation actions for standard credit scenarios, following established policies.
  • Collaborate with Risk, Underwriting, and Finance teams to help operationalize credit strategy and improve decisioning processes.
  • Participate in special projects related to credit strategy, portfolio optimization, and risk governance.
  • Engage in ongoing learning and development to build expertise in credit strategy, risk models, and industry best practices.

  • Minimum 6+ years of relevant experience in consumer credit, credit risk, portfolio analytics, underwriting, or related functions at a financial institution or credit analytics organization.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and support actionable conclusions.
  • Basic understanding of consumer credit products, credit risk concepts, and portfolio performance drivers.
  • Proficiency in Excel and quantitative tools
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to present findings and recommendations to business partners.
  • Team-oriented mindset and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn about credit strategy, risk models, and industry best practices.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
  • Familiarity with SQL or visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
