Job summary

Smartstream Limited is seeking a Senior Analyst to join the Smart Fees department in Bengaluru. The role focuses on analysis, reconciliation, validation, and management of fees for OTC and other market services, with a strong emphasis on AI, automation, and data-driven decision making.

You will independently manage complex operations, interact with clients and market participants, and drive process improvements across reconciliations, invoicing, and governance initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile fees for OTC and Listed Derivatives including CDS, IRS, FX, Equities, Bonds, Futures, Options and other market products.
• Analyze and validate brokerage, clearing, exchange, regulatory, and market data fee calculations.
• Investigate and resolve complex exceptions, breaks, disputes, and reconciliation variances.
• Review, validate, and process client, broker, exchange, and vendor invoices with high accuracy and control.
• Ensure all client service levels and internal controls are met consistently.
• Perform root cause analysis on operational issues and drive sustainable resolutions.
• Proactively identify risks and escape critical issues where appropriate.
• Serve as a key point of contact for external and internal stakeholders.
• Manage investigations and queries related to invoices, reconciliations, fee calculations, and billing discrepancies.
• Communicate complex issues clearly and provide meaningful analysis and recommendations.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, scalability, productivity, and controls.
• Evaluate and streamline existing processes to reduce manual effort and operational risk.
• Contribute towards governance frameworks and SOP improvements.
• Actively identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and data analytics to enhance performance.
• Lead development and implementation of automation initiatives across workflows.
• Design analytical solutions, dashboards, automation utilities, and reporting tools.
• Translate business challenges into technology-driven solutions with measurable outcomes.

Job Overview

The Senior Analyst will join the Smart Fees (Fees & Expense Management) department and be responsible for the analysis, reconciliation, validation, and management of fees related to Brokerage, Clearing, Exchange, Regulatory, and other Market Data services in accordance with client Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

The role requires strong knowledge of OTC products, fee structures, invoice processing, reconciliations, and exception management. The successful candidate will be expected to independently manage complex operational activities, work directly with clients and market participants, drive issue resolution, improve processes, and contribute towards strategic initiatives across the department.

Beyond operational excellence, we are seeking a highly analytical, technology-driven, and proactive individual with a strong passion for AI, automation, and data-driven decision making. Key Responsibilities

Operations & Reconciliations

• Utilize AI platforms and automation technologies to optimize processes, strengthen controls, improve data quality, and reduce manual effort.
