Job summary

Morgan Stanley is seeking an Associate in Operations to support Primary Dealer trading operations across Fixed Income and FX products, including auction processing, settlement oversight, regulatory reporting and risk management.

This role focuses on ensuring RBI and CCIL compliance, driving process improvements, and coordinating with audit and regulatory functions. 5+ years of relevant experience is typically expected.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years relevant experience in operations.
• Experience in Fixed Income and/or Foreign Exchange Operations.
• Knowledge of RBI regulations, CCIL operating procedures, Government Securities markets and Primary Dealer obligations.
• Ability to manage regulatory reporting, audit engagements and regulatory inquiries.
• Strong stakeholder management and analytical/problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute complex processes and assist a Team Manager in coordinating processes, risks and/or projects in a Team Lead capacity.
• Recognize risk in day-to-day processes to draw out the key issues and leverage detailed knowledge to propose changes.
• Train others, allocate tasks and support with first line escalation where required.
• Share expert knowledge across the team, contribute to team output and development, building relationships across the Firm.
• Process and oversee Primary Dealer operational activities including RBI auction participation, Government Securities settlements, CCIL obligations, funding and reconciliation activities.
• Prepare and review regulatory reports, management information and control reporting to ensure compliance with RBI, CCIL and internal regulatory requirements.
• Manage internal and external audit engagements, regulatory inspections and stakeholder queries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
• Drive process improvements, strengthen operational controls and support risk mitigation initiatives across the Primary Dealer function.

Were seeking someone to join our team as an Associate in Operations to support Primary Dealer trading operations across Fixed Income and FX products, ensuring effective execution of auction processing, regulatory reporting, settlement oversight, risk management and compliance with RBI and CCIL requirements.

In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is an Associate level position within the Operations Job Family.

What youll do in the role:

What youll bring to the role:

• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of functional area and operational/compliance policies and procedures of their team.
• Ability to operate independently with respect to some job responsibilities.

• Experience in Fixed Income and/or Foreign Exchange Operations with a strong understanding of trade lifecycle management, settlements, reconciliations and funding processes.
• Knowledge of RBI regulations, CCIL operating procedures, Government Securities markets and Primary Dealer obligations.
• Ability to manage regulatory reporting, audit engagements, query management and exception resolution in a controlled environment.
• Understanding of operational risk, controls, escalation management and regulatory compliance requirements within financial services.
• Strong stakeholder management, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize competing deliverables and meet critical deadlines.
• At least 5 years relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
